While you have less control as an NFL coach you also have less work as you don't have to run behind HS kids kissing their asses.

I can understand this move.

Come on! If you're going to go college you gotta go Lincoln. Man this sucks.

Lincoln is perfectly content at Oklahoma. Making millions, and nobody is expecting him (really) to win a National Championship. No pressure, easy recruiting, and guaranteed 10 wins or so every year.

Thoughts? Owls?

They interviewed Mike McCarthy twice. He would have been a better options. I guess he wanted Dallas more than Charlotte.

Yeah the Dallas job was/is a way better job. I'm a die hard Panthers fan and I can admit that.

They must have liked the way his team held it's own against the Georgia JV team.

Panthers are giving former Baylor HC Matt Rhule a seven-year - seven year - deal worth $60 million that with incentives could be worth up to $70 million, per league sources.

I think Carolina would have been a better job if Richardson was still in charge. He tended to let the GM and coach run the show. Tepper hopefully won't be as bad as Jerry with the meddling while having zero idea what you're doing, but definitely more than JR so far.

So which one of our beloved coaches may we lose in the process?

CBS already putting Heupel, Dykes and Fickell on their list

Why not, having a clue has never been a requirement for sports journalism, by naming an AAC coach they are guaranteed the most "Clicks".

I'm not sure Lincoln's style of offense would work at the NFL level.

As a Panthers fan, I am underwhelmed with this hire. While I think Rhule is a very good college coach...I'm just not excited with testing him in the Pros.

Look, I'm not saying that Fickell's never going to leave but if he does, with his B1G/O$U pedigree it would be some place far better than lowly B12 Baylor.

Baylor is where Temple level coaches go.

RE: Matt Rhule - Carolina Panthers
I don’t even think he was a great college coach. I mean, he was really just getting started at Baylor.

He won at Temple, I wouldn’t say he was dominant. Won 1 American title.

The Big12 opening kind of worries me for Heupel.

Baylor is where Temple level American conference champion coaches go.

But Fickle will be a B12 coach when Cincinnati gets added, right?
