The other three CBS Sports Network CAA games were decided by 1, 4, and 2.

Both teams took the same # of shots. TU made 7 more of them. Towson had 8 more rebounds than Drexel. The difference in the game was the terrible 1st half defense. They continued to play hard with the game out of reach and played well after Towson shut down their intensity.

But it's another road game where they didn't show up to play. It's now been 341 days since the Dragons last won a road game. Spiker's Dragons are now 9-43 (.173).
Interior defense is a problem. The first half Towson shot something like 54% including 5-8 from 3. On top of 8 offensive rebounds and I believe 5 or 6 steals. They beat us up while shooting hot, plain and simple. The 2nd half early on was the same. We actually played good offense and yet after 5 or 6 minutes their lead increased (mostly trading 2's for 3's, some were ridiculous but they fell). I think I recall Towson was 7-12 or 13 from 3 before they cooled off, which is when we made our run.

Walton continued his poor performance and Spiker finally accepted this and pulled him after the first possession in the 2nd half (bad 3 point attempt followed by lazy defense that led to a layup). Coletrane played well. Hopefully we can get more from him going forward. We need Walton to figure it out, he is a nice piece for us, but right now is playing in such a way that he does not belong seeing the court. Hopefully Spiker makes a move with someone else starting to get that messages across to him.

The 2 factors that are absolutely killing us are our interior defense and turnovers on offense. We give up far too many easy layups down low and we just give the ball away on offense. Not sure how you coach better IQ but we need it and fast. This is a loss that was expected and fine as long as we move on quickly and show up at JMU Saturday. If we can't grab a win at JMU, it will be tough to find a road win anywhere

Towson started 6-12 from 3 and then went 1-7 to finish 7-19.

Of the two factors you named, one is a weakness for Hofstra and one is a strength. Hofstra allows opponents to shoot twos .516, which is even worse than your opponents' .514. Hofstra leads the CAA in turnover margin, and you're tied with W&M for last.
