How worried should we be....
Markquis came out of the game with an injury and was hobbling pretty good on the sideline. Color guy on the radio referred to it as "minor" injury. We probably won't get any "real" info until we see if he is on the court Thursday night.

Watching the game, it looked like a hamstring pull. They didn't put any ice on it and he was standing up and cheering at the end.

RE: How worried should we be....
I'm hoping he will be fine. Things seem to be really coming together for this team. Playing great and get 2 key players eligible on Thursday. Hoping we could just "tread water" without Nikola. Never in my wildest dreams saw us being 5-0, 2 full games ahead of everyone else in the conference at this point.

It was encouraging to see Bankston in uniform instead of sweats last night. He must be really close to playing again. Even saw him dancing a little bit to the time out music.

I doubt anyone envisioned Monyyong and Johnson being as good as they have been. I'm telling you, Nikola is going to have to earn his way back into the starting lineup.

And, even if DW thought Nikola deserved a starting role, he might be hesitant to monkey with the chemistry he has going right now, and I couldn't blame him.

Just like he is continuing to start Jovan, although Jaczec is the one that is playing "starters" minutes.

RE: How worried should we be....
Some players are better starters and some are better finishers. Several years ago (I don't remember who it was), we had the same situation. One player always got the start, but did not play more then ten minutes or so per game. I figure coaches do not like to have the team dig a hole early from which they cannot get out. Some players "make things happen," but frequently make the wrong sort of things happen, so coaches like to start someone who is less spectacular but more reliable. Frankly, I do not view Jaizec as that type of player, just the opposite, so I really don't think it would apply in this case.
However, with Jovan starting, we generally have a 6-10, 6-7, 6-7, 6-5 starting lineup, which is going to give us big height advantage over opponents, especially at the 2 and 3 spots. When Lottie comes in for Jovan, and we switch to 6-1, 5-7 at the two guard positions, just the opposite is true.

RE: How worried should we be....
Lottie is averaging nine minutes more per game than Stulic, but Stulic has started every game (15) in which he has played, and Lottie has started none. Maybe Jaizec is our jump-starter for when things begin to lag.

RE: How worried should we be....
I would not have guessed it, but Besovic has played in 13 games and averaged 6.6 minutes per pop. Probably those will disappear when the two other big guys come back. It's a shame, because he has filled in well in what he has been asked to do.

Markquis appears to be good to go according to someone else on the team.[/align]
