But wait, Murphy cried so hard last year about the non-conference schedule he had last year and claimed that was the reason for his poor MAC record. Empirical evidence would dispute that, his cushy schedule this season only provided him a awesome head start on a 20 win season that I don't see coming. Sorry Rob.

Ramy I know you like this team's players and so do I. Toure may not be a great basketball player but he is an athletic seven footer. Groce is a splendid athlete. Montero and Morgan are solid MAC players. Dillard and James are very promising freshman. Binelli is a good shooter along with being a tall guy. This is a pretty good bunch of guys playing with no direction, a movie we have all seen before.

Actually I think Sam paid an indirect compliment to Murphy when he described our offense as "archaic". My choice of adjective would have been along the lines of "catastrophic" or "non-existent" instead. We have a lot of guys this year that can make 3-point shots but they need an offensive scheme where they can receive the ball as well as square their feet with a positive momentum towards the basket. Our center could do considerable damage if he could receive the ball on the low block. Those scenarios, of course would require a viable offensive system where the basketball is moved side to side, screens are set and off ball players are active. HECK NO! We play the 2-3 zone, that is our trademark!

I actually said “anarchist”...or, without leadership. I think we would be pretty good if we even had an “archaic” offense.

The talent is there. We just don’t have a guy that can go get us a bucket, which used to bail Murphy out big time (Ray Lee, Paul Jackson, Elijah Minnie, to name a few). That leads to a ton of disarray when we have the ball. Hence the struggles. Montero is close, but he doesn’t have that irrational confidence that his predecessors had.

Going to be a long year. I was overly optimistic with 9 wins in the MAC. I think we will win some games, but this is shaping up to be a rough year, and it’s on Murphy.

Why does Murphy recruit Toure, JTIV, Riley, etc.....when he doesn't design plays to get them the ball! Toure shoots 5 or 6 shots per game! We can't shoot the 3 once again, and our offensive game plan is nonexistent as usual! Defense baby, the ZONE, and once again we lose to teams with less talent! Hire Earl Boykins, have Carl or Charles Thomas as assistants.........bring back Lorenzo Neely as well........
