So Clemson vs GT week one yet again it is. Lemme just go ahead and pencil that in from now until the end of time.

no need for pencil - you can use a pen.

Which means they would have to play either Clemson or BC in Week 1.

Well, the same goes for Wake Forest and Old Dominion. But in both cases you would be asking a team to move its bye week to Week 1 so you don't have to. This is the ACC's problem to fix, not the MAC or CUSA.

I was too lazy to look up everything, but now that you point it out, yes - Syracuse must be away in week 1, and the only 2020 ACC away games for them are BC, Clemson, Pitt and Wake. Wake and Pitt are busy, BC has an FCS opponent, and Clemson is open...

And there is really no excuse for this... the ACC should do like the other P conferences and decide the conference portion of the schedule well in advance - leaving slots for non-conference games (either weeks 1, 2, 13 and 14 for those with rivalry games, or some pattern that makes sense for each team). Every AD needs to know when his team will be asked to play a conference game BEFORE he schedules OOC games.

This is an actual example of poor leadership, IMO.

wake @ old dominion isnt acc controlled so harder to move that. In the end i think its going to be boston college moving holy cross to week 5 or later (unless purdue was ok switching there bye week from 10/3 to 9/26 in which bc holy cross could be 9/26) I was able to put together a workable entire schedule and all byes are between weeks 4-10

NC State can not play at home on the 17th or 24th due to the NC State Fair. I don't see NC State having 1-0 home games in October.

Some of the AD's are scheduling their OOC games in an effort to reduce being screwed on the schedule by the Conference office.

RE: Early Look at 2020 ACC Football Schedule
Based on everything I've read in this and similar threads, and after spending a little time looking around on FBSchedules.com, here is my guess on Clemson's 2020 schedule. I'll find out soon how well I guessed.

Sep. 05 @ Georgia Tech
Sep. 12 Louisville
Sep. 19 Akron
Sep. 26 Virginia
Oct. 03 @ Boston College
Oct. 10 Syracuse
Oct. 17 NC State
Oct. 24 @ Florida State
Oct. 31 OPEN
Nov. 07 @ Notre Dame
Nov. 14 The Citadel
Nov. 21 @ Wake Forest
Nov. 28 South Carolina

If I'm GT's AD and it's Clemson on the opener I take a long hard look at moving the Clemson game into the Benz along with the ND game. If we're going to be Clemson's launch hype platform again, might as well cash in on it to the maximum.

They probably considered it, but perhaps the scheduling didn't work out for 2020. There are already three Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games over the first two weeks of the season.

You may already know this, but the 2022 game between Clemson and GT is going to be a Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Labor Day Monday.

RE: Early Look at 2020 ACC Football Schedule
It doesn't help the league scheduling office that 3 of Clemson's 4 OOC games (Notre Dame, Citadel and South Carolina) are to be played in November instead of September. That means they need three conference games in the first four weeks or have an early bye. Personally, I don't have a big problem with accommodating the Tigers, who are carrying the league's banner right now.

Agreed. Take care of Clemson football like they do Duke basketball.
