Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
Might as well start a new thread.

As we start 2020, Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes are on the PGA Tour, Taylor Pendrith will golf on the Korn Ferry Tour and Chase Johnson and Ian Holt don't have status on those tours and probably will play minitours or the LatinoAmerica Tour or Mackenzie Tour.

Conners just finished 19th on the Sentry Tournament of Champions. It is his fifth Top 25 finish for the season, which is an impressive start.

Corey Conners with a top 20 finish in the first full field event of 2020. Shot a very tough 66 today to move the board. Great opening two weeks.

Edit: CC will wind up in 12th place, one shot from a top 10 finish.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
On the Korn Ferry Tour, Taylor Pendrith is taking a 2 stroke lead into weekend play. Pendrith has made 2 cuts in the 2 tournaments played so far, but has finished near the bottom of the pack. A hot early start is invaluable because it will keep Pendrith near the top of the priority list after the 8 tournament reshuffle.

And, on the PGA Tour, Conners goes into the weekend tied for 49th and Hughes missed the cut.

Pendrith had a mediocre weekend and finished tied for 24th. On the plus side, he's made decent coin over the first few tournaments and that should help him keep his status throughout the year.

Conners finished tied for 45th on the PGA Tour.

If you aren't doing anything, you might want to check out the Honda Classic as Mackenzie Hughes has played himself into contention after barely making the cut. Hughes is two back, tied for 4th after finishing the 11th hole.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
Hughes finished second by himself. He was tied for the lead for a bit, but bogeyed on the 16th and fell out of the lead. He made a 54 foot putt on the 17th to briefly tie for the lead, but. moments later, Sungjae Im sank a birdie putt to regain the lead. Both Im and Hughes parred the 18th (Hughes had some work to do after a horrible 2nd shot). Meanwhile, the two other players left on the course went into the water on 18th and Hughes moved up to second by himself.

Hughes was 8 under for the last two rounds, well ahead of the rest of the field, coming up from 59th to 2nd. This is a major accomplishment for Hughes, who has not played well this year at all. 300 FedEx points get him most of what he'll need to keep his card next year (he had just 10 points this year so far) and the strong finish will hopefully give him confidence going into the spring and summer.

Connors will definitely make the cut—currently -11 and in second place, one back. Mac Hughes will too, at -8, 4 shots back in 11th. Go Flashes!

After making the cut last week and having a disappointing weekend, Mackenzie is tied for the lead with some guy named Rory. Just a few holes remaining in his round.

It's a par 70, but still not too shabby. He has a 3 shot lead.

That's nothing. I can shoot 60 in 9 holes.

-2 and -2 on Friday and Saturday isn't getting it done. Now 4 shots back. Probably going to get a good payday, but not going to win.
