Somewhat unrelated to the NE win tonight, I was at Revolution Golf & Grille watching the Bills game yesterday and asked the manager about road Tribe games. He said that they already had hosted some JMU events and so have the Flosports package. If we ask them ahead of time, they can have the game set up for viewing. The advance notice is because FloSports is streaming only so it requires a special setup (for them) in order to get the game set up. I wasn't sure who to talk to about this at W&M as far as getting viewing parties set up, but I figured posting here would probably get it in front of the right eyeballs.

I don't have any kind of affiliation with RGG, except that I have been going there for 2 years to watch Bills games. It's been very family-friendly in the event people need to bring their kids; we do that every week. It's also where the Marv Levy signing event was over Homecoming weekend.

Hrm... I couldn’t go on weeknight, but Saturday afternoon away games could be very appealing.

Outstanding idea.

I am the person who sets all that kind of stuff up for my family, and FloSports is still a bad enough interface that it's a struggle to find the game sometimes. I'd give someone a hard time about using Netflix or Hulu, but not finding a particular game/event on FloSports. Unfortunately, the CAA connected with them in their "early adopter" phase before they have their user interface figured out.

For RGG, though, the regular staff can change the channels or run DirecTV off the tablet, but FloSports needs a laptop or streaming device that is not part of standard operating procedures.

Given the poor reputation of FloSports on this board, I was expecting to have difficulties when trying to find Tribe games. However, the interface through my AppleTV and my iPhone works very well. No problems thus far.

(And yes, I realize I'm setting myself up for a huge failure next time I need FloSports to work for an away game...)

I agree that it works pretty well with AppleTV although sometimes I seem to have a bit of an issue finding the game when I click on the FloSports App on Apple TV itself and I end up finding the game on my iPad and then sending it back to AppleTV. I am sure that it is just user error on my part.

Did anyone else have a transmission error for the last several minutes of the Northeastern game? Action was sort of freezing and then jumping to the live action again.

Yeah, it was the first time I had experienced the transmission problems, since early in the FB season. I had emailed FLO, at that time, telling them that it was a problem they needed to address. I got a nice reply and had not had any problems until Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, it was a fluke, maybe from the Northeastern end (I believe their games are produced by NESN).

I have a nice HD monitor on my computer and have enjoyed the FloSorts.com viewing of the games. That is where the little TV camera icon on our schedule page will take you, so it is quite convenient.

Viewing quality direct reflection of school producing the stream. Surfing around I think Elon has the sharpest picture. the production is no different than the CAA tv was. rather have that than having to pay for it but it is what it is. Only purchased it because I enjoy watching other CAA sports also. I use roku and have no problem finding the games.

I’ve watched a few basketball games on Flo. Besides the pricing model, my only complaint has been the one mentioned here several times... compared to other platforms, it’s a pain to locate the game. The fact that they don’t have (as far as I’ve seen) a way to mark favorite teams to bubble them to the top is a big miss imo.

I had issues finding games if I searched FloHoops and went through the menu process. But, now all I do it search "William and Mary" on the main page and it takes me directly to the game.

Yeah, it's definitely not a fantastic UI, but it gets the job done. I still don't think it was a good deal for the CAA, but I haven't had any issues with Flo itself.

I always go to the calendar tab so it's only showing what's currently live up top. Have always found our games in the first 5-6 options.

I'm still playing tag with the athletic department, so let's try and get this off the ground here at least. Please send me a PM if you will watch the game at Revolution G&G in Williamsburg tomorrow at 2pm, and I'll call over and make appropriate reservations. It's definitely a family-friendly atmosphere, so bring kids if you need/want to, I will be.
