UAB is awful, just awful and I bet their fans agree with that comment. This is the worse Western 'basketball team' in close to 25 years. Well Stansbury's first team would be in there also. It wasnt much better with Bassey. Slow, no size, not much defense, lot of players that dont want to bust threir ass on every play

Refs fault? I know you didnt say it but you were thinking it LOL

USM is 338th in fts attempted
UTEP 75th

10 of UTEP's FTs came in the last 2 minutes with USM already down 10 points

You'd have been better served if the order of your games was reversed. The Blazers are a bit undisciplined, but are big, play hard-nose basketball and will leave your guys bruised and sore.

I was thinking the same thing going in, but MTSU and WKU are bigger rivals and therefore will get better attendance on Saturday. The order for these games will always be the same.

You have 5 guys playing 35+ minutes each in a tough rivalry game. Rawls played the full 40 (and got 1 of the 2 technicals). Body and mental fatigue will cause you to get upset at the refs over calls. Those technicals are on recruiting not enough depth. This is his fourth year at the helm, depth can't be an issue by this point.

Im reserving any confidence in us until after I see us play 3-0 Florida Atlantic. I know they havent won any notable games but 3-0 in conference is still nothing to shake a stick at for a school like UNT that just got to .500 on the season, schedule be darned.

I didn't see the North Texas game last night, but having seen a couple of their earlier games I think they have a pretty good team this season. They have decent size and are very athletic. I could see them finishing in Pod 1 if they continue to play hard over the next month or so.

Cusa as a whole is a dumpster fire. I expected UTSA to run away with the league this season, with wku in 2nd, and now I honestly have no idea. You might as well throw darts for who gets the ncaa bid and i doubt they win a game this season.

I'm probably the biggest critic of UAB Basketball at the moment and I will say it's a bit of an exaggeration to say UAB is awful. We're about as average as average can get. We have no outside shooting and our ball handling is very suspect but we do play very good defense and is an outstanding rebounding team.

That said, that last technical foul cost you guys the game in my opinion because the momentum had clearly shifted in favor of WKU. I also didn't understand why Stansy was applying full court pressure with a depleted roster. WKU could have won the game just playing straight up defense and forcing UAB to shoot from the outside.

Maybe awful in the sense of UAB's program history? Because this is definitely the worst team in UAB history, at least during the KenPom era, and they were still able to beat Western by 10.

No we didn’t. Our sos is probably top 3 or 4 in the conference. If anyone played that type of UNT schedule you’re speaking of it’s LT. Their sos is 325.

Tech's loss to UTSA dumped their NET Rank from 62 to 86. UTSA was 249 going into that game. I think that snuffs out the last At-Large hope we had.

Six of the ten ooc D1 games were against teams rated 120 or better by NET. We only have two out of 14 conference games vs teams in the top 120. But ok sir they’re identical cuz you say so.

RE: Week of Jan. 6 Men’s Basketball
With about an hour and a half till tip, here is the series info I could find from Sports-Reference.

-North Texas and Florida Atlantic have played 18 times. All as conference mates in the Sun Belt and then CUSA.

-UNT leads the all-time series 12-6.

-FAU won both games last season and has won the last 3 overall.

-Last meeting at the Super Pit was February 28th, 2019, a 60-54 FAU win.

-UNT is favored by 7.5 points today.
