Flo costs $12.50 per month or $7.95 per month if you pay for a year. I'll pay $62.50. Paying through March includes the CAA First Round and Quarterfinals, and I'm assuming would include if any CAA teams host postseason games that aren't on TV. If Hofstra is good at Softball I might pay for May to watch the CAA Tournament and stop again until November. I'd watch a little CAA Football online if it was free, but it's not worth it to me to pay for September and October for that. In addition to the start of Men's Basketball (and Women's Basketball), November includes the Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer tournaments (and Volleyball and Field Hockey that I don't watch) and the end of Football. Many Hofstra fans care about Lacrosse, but I don't. The price Flo listed before they had the CAA was $29.95 per month or $12.50 per month if you pay for a year, and I don't know if I would have paid $150 for a year. Paying $119.80 for four months wouldn't have made sense.

I get CBS Sports. I would have been mad if the CAA was on a channel I didn't get. I'd be fine with NBC Sports. CBS Sports shows better conferences on Saturdays and the CAA on Thursdays. NBC Sports rightfully prioritized the A10 when they had both, and they show the NHL on Thursdays.

I did the year subscription which cost me $95.88+tax=$101.63. But Drexel gave me 5 ticket passes that I use for women's basketball games, which is about a $50 value. So the yearly subscription basically cost me $51. If I signed up for monthly subscriptions for 4 months during the season, the cost would have been about the same. So now I have FLO for an entire year, in case I'm interested in watching some spring sports.

My cable/internet/phone bill is already in the $230 range, but that includes Netflix. I get Amazon Prime for free. And I pay for MLB.TV and FLO on top of that. I'm also an indoor lacrosse fan. NLL games are on B/R Live, which is another subcription that I'm kind of holding off getting right now, but will probably get month to month later in the season. I agree that it does get annoying with all of the add ons after already paying for cable. But either I pay or I miss a season of watching games. I'd rather just shell out the money.

Is that state tax? I don't have to pay tax for Flo. I would have paid for a year of Flo if it cost $51 directly. Women's Basketball passes wouldn't have helped me because Hofstra is so bad. I've never been to a Women's game. I'd consider it if Hofstra was good. I have been to two Women's Soccer games. I don't use Netflix or any streaming services for something other than sports. I pay for ESPN Plus, Flo, MLB.TV, and NBC Sports' Premier League Pass for English soccer.

Before thinking about Netflix or anything else, keep in mind that some old movies and shows are free on YouTube. Likewise, when searching for scholarly journal articles, they can be on a site that charges and another site for free. The free site could be illegal, but as long as I'm not illegally distributing and the information is accurate, I don't care if my source is allowed to distribute what it distributes. Regardless of what you're looking for online, if one site charges, don't assume you can't get it for free somewhere else. It could be a fun contest to give people time to search online for things that are free on at least one site and cost money on at least one site to see how much money worth of stuff you can find for free in an hour of searching.

That's PA State Sales Tax. I guess every state has different rules regarding charging for a streaming service. PA rules are tough, but at least there's no tax on clothing or groceries. The 5 passes are guest passes that can be used for men's or women's basketball games. But the offer was only available for season ticket holders. I already have 2 seats for all men's games and can easily get more from people who I know, so I use the passes for women's games.

New York charges 8.625 percent tax on almost all items. They do not charge tax on snack bags. Snack and drink machines never add tax, and snack bags don't have tax if you buy them at a cashier either. I don't know if there's tax on ordering physical items online to be delivered, but there isn't tax on streaming. The bigger thing is that property taxes are high. Hofstra's Men's Soccer coach also coaches kids because he needs two jobs to live in the area. I don't know if he's married. Even with the high taxes, Nassau (where I live and where Hofstra is) has financial trouble to the point where spending is controlled by unelected the Nassau Interim Finance Agency (NIFA) rather than the Nassau legislature, and NIFA has had control for so many years that it shouldn't be called "interim." Many roads have poor quality. Garbage pickup and plowing snow are adequate. My public schools were great, which comes from town taxes. One big complaint is long lines at the DMV, but that might be entirely controlled by state government.

Hofstra makes all coaches except for Men's Basketball fundraise $100,000 per year. Hofstra only charges for tickets for four sports, which are Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Lacrosse, and Wrestling. How many sports, if any, does Drexel have free admission for? Hofstra and Drexel are in or near big cities in the northeast, are in the CAA, do not play Football, and are non-religious private schools, so that's four things in common.
