UTEP won at home against FIU&FAU by 31 and 30, respectively. With a backloaded schedule, they’ll probably remain near the top of the standings early in CUSA play. While inconsistent, this group has shown enough spark to suggest they can play with any team in CUSA and should be considered a legitimate (outside) contender for both regular and post season titles.

The UAB Men are ranked at 159 in Pomeroy after knocking off WKU on Thursday.

Despite starting conference play with an 0-2 road trip, the Blazers got right with a nice win over the Toppers. Like most CUSA teams, they play best at home. Neutral court win against Duquesne opened some eyes.

Best losses: at Kentucky(18) by 11. Memphis(40, AP top 25) by 8

The last time Charlotte's men picked up a 10th win was 2/4/2017 (man we have sucked!) Now sitting on 8 wins, Marshall could be the one!

UTEP’s Men are ranked 120 (Pomeroy) after getting their first CUSA win Thursday.

Like UAB, they started conference play stuck on 9 wins with an 0-2 road trip. Their home win over USM this week required a small second-half comeback. It’s hard to know exactly what to expect from this squad, but they appear to have what it takes to challenge Louisiana Tech and the other contenders for the championship. We’ll know a lot more about that possibility after tonight’s game in El Paso against the Bulldogs.

Best losses: at NMST by 3
Worst losses: close losses last week at FIU(174) and FAU(172) (not really that “bad”)

At large: Not realistically in the conversation, despite a couple respectable home wins. If either of those two make a move to get in the tourney (and UTEP wins tonight) then maybe we can talk.

clt is hearing that OBJ was handing out Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich coupons to the rice WBB.

Charlotte last started 4-0 in conference play in 1997-98, 10 wins for the first time since 2016-17. Man, we were bad, but it feels great to be back on the rise!

Charlotte's women's team also got their 11th win of the season vs Marshall last night as well. They've been pretty good as well.

We're going to have to rename our city. Marshall is talking all our L's.

UAB women are 11-7.

Rachael Childress is currently 16th all-time in the NCAA WBB in 3-pt FG made, and is moving up the list fast. She’ll probably finish in the top 5.
