I posted back in the preseason prediction thread that Marshall will be a team no one will want to see in March, but it looks like it may be true of January and February as well. We have 5 wins in our last 6 games each by 18 points or more (our loss was a hard fought game against a UNI team just outside the Top 25 in the AP poll). We have length and athletics to give anyone in this league fits, and we have some depth. We’re averaging about 16 more points per game since Sheriff Andy Taylor became eligible to play. We’re in great shape right now...

After 1 conference game, let’s all forfeit, crown Marshall...

Marshall also has the length to block shots efficiently without fouling every time down the court. They had 10 blocks tonight (Brooks-Harris 3, Williams 3, Beyers 1, Kinsey 1, George 1 and even West 1).

The good thing or if you wanna look at it the other way the bad thing is this whole team will be back next year. And then it will be adding Dejour Rucker (redshirting this year) and Obinna Anochili-Killen (Signed, doubt he redshirts, but who knows he may). The only senior that was on the team Ante Šustić transferred out a few weeks ago.

This is a whole different team than what you've seen the last 4 years with Marshall. Its no longer the Jon and CJ show. This is a much bigger and more athletic team. Avg height is 6'9 with West being the smallet at 5'11. Even Taylor is 2 inches taller than Jon was.

UAB finishes with 44 points. I am not specifically sure, but towards the end of the game they may have had as many rebounds (37) as points. If not, they were very close. That has to be a rare stat.

Gosh. Sounds like Marshall won't lose a single conference game for at least the next 5 seasons counting this one.

This all sounds familiar to what we have heard in past seasons though so who knows.
