Please explain your logic. I'm not trying to be a smart arse, but why on earth would you expect the game to be closer in Ruston? Theoretically, isn't it supposed to be tougher to win a basketball game on the road than at home?

Absolute beat down in Hattiesburg tonight. Dawgs making a statement that the conference title will go through Ruston.

USM went 0-whatever from 3 tonight and I don't expect that to happen again in Ruston. Also, I doubt we beat them again by the same margin but your right correct in that I do not know what will happen. I just think it will be a closer game.

According to whether the refs let Tech throw elbows and hip checks all game, or not, I suppose. USM goes to Texas Tech, and almost gets the W, then loses by a million at home to a school from Louisiana. Horrible coaching, refs were not even ashamed at raping USM, and 25 is a thug.
Congrats on the win though. Tech is still my 3rd favorite team, after USM and UTEP. Not faulting you one bit. If the refs condone it, go with it. Didn't matter anyway; USM was not going to defend the 3, and Ladner was in a fugue state all night.

Watched the whole game and didn’t see any dirty play by Tech tonight.
It just wasn’t Southern Miss. night tonight. Your guys are young and will look better with time.

Texas Tech is overrated too.

Noodles my man, do you think USM's ZERO of 16 from the 3-point line had anything to do with the outcome? Just asking for a friend who said the NCAA single-game record worst 3-point shooting was 0 of 22.

Didn't watch the 2nd half, but neither team looked good in the 1st half. Also, the tech in the 1st half was terrible. He had a late whistle. So. Miss coach was not out of control and got a tech for it. Ref needs to have thicker skin or less of an ego.

I was sitting at floor level. I saw what I saw. USM was never going to win. Not the point I was making.

I’m also on the LaTech bandwagon and am rooting for them to win every regular season game left (except one) and to be the first CUSA team to get an at-large since (sheesh, it’s been at least five years and probably longer)

I didn't see the game, so I'll take your word for it that the officiating was bad. That's no surprise for any CUSA game. But, that said, officiating usually doesn't make much of an impact when one team beats the other by 30 points. It's usually the close games that officiating matters. Just saying....

The WBB game is listed at 7pm MT (9pm ET) in El Paso.

However, If you google “UTEP Sports Schedule” from the Central Time Zone it would probably tell you that the FIU-UTEP game is at 8 (without saying what sport or time zone). That’s WBB.

How did they both do in the 2012 Tournament?

They both lost in the 1st round:

8 Memphis 54
9 St Louis 61

8 K-State 70
9 Southern Miss 64

Those were the last 2 losses in the 1st round of the NCAAs for CUSA until last year when ODU lost to Purdue 61-48.
