It's a stadium rule, not an NCAA rule. Hard to believe this is the 16th season for streamers. Time flies. When they first started I worried about penalties if they hit the field as well as them running on people if it rained. Well - streamers don't run if wet (package even says it), and they have never called a penalty for them and quite a few have hit many fields the last 16 years. Unless you're in the first couple rows, or it's real windy it's pretty hard to get on the field at least on the sides.

Yep. You 'da man, Dukester. I received many a streamer from the Dukester, passing them out from a cardboard box. The Godfather of Streamers, you deserve much credit. A tradition I hope never dies. Watching on TV, it is a very impressive sight to see the purple and gold streamers flying. Opposing teams hate it, because jealousy. Smelly Bisons wish they had something so cool.

I know we have a few vocal fans that complain, but I would say most of us are indifferent to you guys throwing your streamers, as long as they're not onto the field or at opposing fans. But I have yet to read or hear one suggesting we should do it as well.

You guys are the only ones that whined about it. YSU and Montana were more worried about the game, than traditions of other schools. I'm sure those that complained were right in the middle of the NDSU section - nowhere near where the would be. ESPN promotes the tradition, and NDSU fans start whining.

It won't stop it, although the volume will be less. Heaven forbid people have creative fun at games. Probably the same people that thought celebrations should be banned in the NFL.

The fuss opposing teams have about paper streamers is pretty amusing.

NDSU folks just hate whenever they have to leave to Fargo Barn, b/c they cannot pipe in noise elsewhere.
