RE: Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker
Just saw the movie last night, I’m satisfied with it, but would not say I loved it.

Stupid things:
-I thought bringing back the emperor was stupid, he looked like a stick puppet attached to that life support machine.
-The “cone droid” was a waste of time, but I’m sure Disney will make millions off of merchandise.
-The use of force powers seem to have taken a ridiculous turn from a mysterious energy that can be manipulated for those trained in its use, to a magic trick.
-Force ghost should not be able to help or harm the living in any physical way.
-The lesbian kiss, so unneccessary.
-Thousands of star destroyers just happened to be made by whom? I would believe a dozen or so that was made before the fall of the empire as sort of a back up plan.
-I felt Chewy’s character was uncharacteristicly soft. Like when he surrendered to the storm troopers instead of going down guns blazing.

Things I liked
-Probably in the minority, but I liked the reveal that Rey was a Palpatine which explains her powers well.
-Even though the emperor should have been dead, I was satisfied with the explaination of why Rey was orphaned.
-Jannah was a good character.
-The mysterious Sith homeworld
-Admiral Pride was a good villain
-Leia’s death made sense

I feel like had JJ done TLJ, this would've been explained better or a better back story given. It's like skipping The Empire Strikes Back and rolling in the credits the fact that Vader is Luke's dad.

How about destroying ships with Force lightning like that? Why didn't he do that in ROTJ??

RE: Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker
The emperor was way over powered, I did not care for the part where he was using force lightening to destroy an entire fleet of ships and then uses the same force lightening on Rey only to be pushed back by 2 lightsabers. Yeah that was stupid.

Nope, and I will not see it. I am a Star Wars fan since the 1980s. I read the books. I saw the young Anakin movie and liked Jar Jar Binks.

Stopped reading there.

It's like my Brother in Law the other night saying he wasn't going to see it and I asked why and he said a guy he worked with said all these things, and I looked at him and said yea those things were explained and were in the movie, what was the guy doing. He said probably playing on his phone.

UNTIL you watch the movies your opinion of them are not important.

I've never seen Star Trek, do you honestly want my opinion of it as a movie series and TV series.

I'm kind of with you there too.... if you haven't watched it then you can't really argue about it. And to that end, digging up non-movie based material for the woulda, coulda, shouldas of the series when depending on the story you follow its all fan fiction and not straight from George Lucas so.....

That said, I am not saying the last trilogy is issue free, but you have take some things with a grain of salt arguably the whole thing got messed up by starting the movies at Episodes 4-6 LOL.
