I read somewhere that last Saturday was the first time since 2002 that NDSU has not scored a touchdown in the Fargodump. This team is just not the same as the dominant NDSU teams of the past. Even though they are undefeated in a conference not nearly as strong as some people think, the past few games show vulnerabilities, a running game that can be stuffed. ISU held the smelly Bisons to 128 rushing yards, 3.0 ypc. How well would they do against us?

I hope we find out in Frisco, but I think NDSU is having offensive issues, are not firing on all cylinders, and MSU is the better team. Never underestimate the seven extra players in striped shirts the smelly Bisons have on the field though. Weird things happen to teams who face off against NDSU.

I am seeing a bit of displeasure with Matt Entz coming from the Bison board too. Some question whether he has what it takes.

Our teams played very similar games against very similar opponents last weekend. ISUr and UNI have great defenses and average-at-best offenses (I’m being kind). Both of our teams moved the ball with some success in the first half but had trouble finishing drives. Both then went ultra-conservative in the 2nd half knowing that the opponent wasn’t going to be able to sustain multiple drives to take a lead (it was way riskier for us after the FG cut it to 6. I wasn’t a fan, but it worked out).

Coincidentally MSU and WSU have very similar defenses (statistically speaking anyway).

Somehow for JMU it’s no concern because either last week was by design and no big deal, or it will light a fire under the offense and they’re going to take it out on Weber State this week. But for us last week means we’re terrible and we’re only going to score 9 points again? Uh huh

You can make the argument for conservative play calling from both teams but if you guys were doing that in a 6 point game then you should be questioning the competence of your coach. JMU did it up 2 scores and if there was a big play from UNI I'm sure the play calling would go back to the first quarter where Dinucci was 9/11 for over 100 yards. Add in 2 missed field goals and a pick in the endzone (ref missed the UNI defender blatantly holding). Without self inflicted mistakes that game was 30-0 and it felt like it was anyway.

NDSU was getting pushed around up front on both sides of the ball. You can't say the same for JMU. It's also the second game in a row for NDSU that they have struggled against the run. MSU is a run heavy team so its easy to see how people would think you will struggle a bit.

Giving up 160 yards on 40 carries isn’t exactly getting pushed around. Not great but not terrible considering we were going up against a good running team and a special back like Robinson. We’ll give up a few yards to the Bobcats too, probably similar to what ISUr got but I’ll be surprised if they run roughshod like they have the past few weeks.

Offensively we were both equally mediocre. You run offense at a faster pace then we do so you had more plays meaning more yards, but we both averaged right at 3 yards per carry. Average yards per play were about the same too. If we got pushed around on offense, so did you.

Anyone who watched both games, or who compares the box score statistics and can convince themselves it was sort of the same thing is wearing some awfully tinted glasses, and they ain't purple.

I could list all the stats here including first downs rushing, total yardage, etc ... but its really not worth the trouble. One team was able to get the ball in the endzone, the other wasn't. We were decisively in control of our game's outcome, and the bison were one blown lateral call away from being in serious doo doo.

It’s sorta true both teams had difficulty finishing last week, but JMU scored a TD and moved the ball on O in both halves, NDSU not so much. In the end, NDSU was one blown call by the refs from losing last week. That truthful fact can’t be said of JMU, so take your spin back to bisonville.

We’ll find out today who meets in Frisco. I don’t think NDSU will be there.

NDSU favored by 17.5 points. A lot of points. Some must think that NDSU will bounce back after last week and take care of Montana State easily.

Yes, and I think they were favored by something like 30 vs ISU last week with some of the computer models. We shall see.

Another running touchdown with a two point conversion. 22-7 Starting to look like a rout in the making.

Time to buy Frisco tickets if you need them and don’t have 200 DC points ... they will double or triple in price soon.

NDSU fans already buying out the entire stadium... hope we win tonight. Also, Montana State does not look good at all. Maybe Bison are just out of everyone's league.

I really thought MSU would take it to NDSU and win, but I agree, MSU looks terrible. They can’t tackle, there’s absolutely no push up the middle on the D line, and they’re slooooow.

Credit to NDSU for an excellent first half, but MSU is either completely outclassed or is sleepwalking. MSU’s D is helping make NDSU look like the second coming of the NE Patriots.

Same here. NDSU looks pretty awesome. And, who the hell is Christian Watson? That guy looks NFL-ready. He should have 20 touchdowns already this season. A lot like Polk.
