The fact we have to cling on to win this game sums up the Rowe era.

Parker (2 for 2), Wooden (2 for 2), and Banks (2 for 2) with some big FT's in the last minute...great to see

Good win, Dukes. As usual, we made it way more interesting than needed late, but no complaints. Excellent free throw shooting down the stretch sealed it.

Glad to see Parker back. He might have played his best game of the season tonight.

7-4 pre-CAA. Next game is the CAA opener at home vs Hofstra (Dec. 28, Sat, 4pm, Flo).

Hard to tell if the defense has improved because Charleston Southern and Fordham are terrible. But, at least we didn't give up 80+ points to terrible teams.

It wasn’t beautiful, but it was good enough to beat Fordham. It is a strong bet that they will finish last in the A-10 for the 3rd straight year.
The ending made me nervous when it got down to a one possession game, but Parker and Wooden each went 2-2 from the FT line in the last minute even though they have both been shooting FT’s in the 40% range this year. That was clutch.

Christmas break and the more important games start after that.

I think - could be off - we were 10 for 10 at the line in the last minute of the game. That's a nice change to see.

If we can look back at the Radford game as the lowest point of the season I’d be pretty happy.

Our lack of a superior PG/ball handler was plainly evident in the game. Hopefully that need is filled in the next recruiting class.

good first half by the Dukes- team has a higher ceiling than in the past. The freshmen bigs (Christmas and Wooden) are at a different level in terms of their length and athleticism. Both battled foul trouble but this team has enough depth to overcome that. Nice to see Parker get back to playing like he can.

Big start to conference play at home vs Hofstra and Northeastern. The Dukes need to play hard on defense (like they have for stretches) more consistently to win those games.

I was thinking the same thing. It's tough to win the late season/post season games if you can't take care of the ball. I think Parker can clean it up and I hope we have a backup that can give him a spell so he's fresh at the end of these games.

I think our talent level is deep enough this year that I would pick my moments to give a lot more playing time with our bench. Rowe mentioned in the post game that the players mentally backed off some in the second half which helped with the run. If he is seeing that, there is no excuse for not pulling a player(s) and putting them on the bench for a few as soon as he sees it. Whether it's mental lapse of physically gassed. Or better yet....substitute before they hit that wall.
