Time to be blunt
https://thehill.com/homenews/administrat...-pelosi-on

"President Trump sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday urging her to halt impeachment proceedings one day before the House is set to vote to impeach him, accusing Democrats of an “unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power.”

Trump, in a scathing six-page letter to Pelosi, complained about the impeachment process, defended his conduct toward Ukraine and accused Democrats of “interfering in America’s elections.”

“It is time for you and the highly partisan Democrats in Congress to immediately cease this impeachment fantasy and get back to work for the American People. While I have no expectation that you will do so, I write this letter to you for the purpose of history and to put my thoughts on a permanent and indelible record,” Trump wrote...."

Sometimes you need someone to call out the Democrats totalitarian tactics for what they are. I stood up and cheered in 2001 when James Baker called out Gore for trying to steal the election.

"...No matter how painful, how protracted, how much this ruffles the delicate sensitivities of Republican senators, if there is going to be a trial, let’s have a real trial to clear Trump’s name and shine a light on the absolute corruption and abuse of power that has taken place. To do anything less will be to the Senate’s shame."

Surprised it wasn't written with a crayon. What an embarrassment to the office.

What's so snowflakey about that? Don't you find it odd that you are likely at odds with half the country on this? If anything is flaky about it that would be your thoughts on it. You seem triggered.

After reading the entire letter I applaud our POTUS enthusiastically. Nothing he accused the democrats of is false.

He was elected BECAUSE of decades of embarrassments sent to every office -- executive, legislative and judicial.

But I get being so aligned with the corrupt status quo makes it really hard to understand that.

I find it interesting that only one side has been heard, and the polling on this seems to be running about 50-50. If you consider a criminal trial, and when the prosecution completes their case, the jury is 50-50, not hard to figure that the verdict is going to be not guilty.

If that was even remotely true, who's fault is it anyway? 03-zzz

trump had EVERY opportunity to testify, provide council, allow his staff to honor subpoenas, or turn over exculpatory evidence. And you know why he didn't. But hey, keep grandstanding and go down the ship. You're all in now. 03-wink

Is that how it works now? Someone makes an accusation about someone based on hearsay and the accused has to provide testimony and evidence to back up the accusation?

It absolutley amazes me that so many people actually believe that.

Well, Trump wouldn't let his folks testify at the House hearings and won't put them on the stand in the Republican led Senate hearings.

Those witnesses were subpoenaed. They refused to honor those requests. Hence the "Obstruction of Congress" charge.

So much for the "if you have nothing to hide..."
