The Nats Park/Audi Field area is surrounded by a major thoroughfare, a river, and a military base. What used to be a hood is now developed into $4,000/month 2 bedroom apartments, restaurants, and gyms.

E&SA is quite literally engulfed by miles of extreme poverty. DC's major development further pushed low income households to this area, onward toward Suitland, and around RFK. Anacostia, since I can remember, has had the highest crimerate in all of DC.

I simply think people are far better off staying 15-20 minutes away. Drive or Uber. And like several mentioned, I don't think the arena grounds will be an issue.

There's a pretty heavy police presence around the arena, it'd probably be fine. I just wouldn't meander around the area otherwise

Yes

Green Line to Congress Heights then a several minute walk. The issue is, I think the Green Line runs to and from Maryland. If you stay in VA, it may not be easily accessible.

RE: St. Francis Game
if you stay in VA and want to metro, you just have to transfer once from blue / yellow / orange / silver to green. It is probably not the shortest way to get there, but it shouldn't be too complicated.

you will likely be walking through section 8 housing between the metro stop and the arena, unless it all has been torn down already.

I also, like others, think you will be fine from the metro to the arena during the games. Mind your own business and know where you are going so you don't have to stop and consult your expensive electronics on the street corner. Just plan to spend your non-game time elsewhere, not hanging out by the arena.
