It has much less to do with religion and politics than people at Liberty care to admit. The bottom line is that 75% of the reason they cannot get in a conference is for the same reasons FBS conferences would not ad University of Phoenix or Strayer University.

Yes. And I am saying this is fine. All is good. Relax. No one at LU is asking for a SBC or CUSA membership. Again, that ship has sailed. We’re thrilled with our independent status and love our schedules. We won’t get into the SBC or CUSA - and that is OK!

RE: Liberty
I attended LU distance learning via VHS tapes in the mid 2000s because I wanted to work in homeless missions. Fortunately, I had to drop the classes on my first deployment due to no being able to lob around VHS cassettes.

Creationism was a hoot for me since my undergraduate path at the time was one of the biological sciences.

I worked for the charlatan Frankie G. for a few summers while a student in Boone, and am an alumnus of SP's Operation Heal Our Patriots after sustaining injuries from a rocket attack on Kandahar Airfield in January of 2011.

I subscribed to Christianity Today this week.

I personally see no worth in Liberty, but would never argue with someone who does. Samaritan's Purse fortunately helps people elsewhere in the world who have never heard the hypocritical and heretical words of their CEO.

I am a big fan of Billy Graham who said "It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it."

I feel that is the problem with modern day evangelicalism.

Everybody love everybody, except for Georgia Southern. Screw those guys.

130,000 living alumni and a few thousand deceased. I am embarrassed to be associated through the App Alumni Assoc with one person. I will not mention names but his initials are FG.

Wow...how times change. Presumably you missed adding the AAC and MAC to that list...

Well, folks, since this thread has devolved into a discussion on religion (there's a forum for that) and academia and has nothing to do, really, with SBC athletics, we're taking this to the General Discussion area.

You can continue bickering at your leisure.

The reason is because political left has used government to attack Christianity. I have no problem and glad FG has taken a stand to the immoral belief that is liberalism. Proud of the Graham family.

MAC is a no as well. Only conference we would entertain is the AAC. You should check their board - a majority of posters mention us as a UCONN replacement - and they’re receptive to it.
