Agreed. I have spoken

I think it's probably safe to say that these comments have less to do with their academic prowess and more to do with their religious background. Just call a spade a spade.

I couldn't possibly care less about Liberty's religious affiliation. Likewise with BYU and Notre Dame.

The point is simply this, they utilize the most basic of academic requirements for entrance into their online degree program; a degree program with minimal instructor interaction, massive class sizes, and minimal interaction between classmates. It is almost purely and assuredly used to boost the assets of the school itself.

They need to label the online side of their offering as "For Profit" so it can be treated for what it is, a diploma mill and their primary source of revenue at minimal cost. It's a sham.

Not sure what that has to do with using online tuition as an ATM...

I mean... you pretty much never like anything about Liberty, aside from their online doings. It's just another available shot to take at them to somehow affirm that they're a bad school.

They are a bad school.

There isn't much you can say to dispute that.

UAB shared a conference with SMU and TCU. Both religiously affiliated universities. I was proud to share a conference with them. I want no part of any affiliation with Liberty.

Most of the rain is forecast for the evening hours. Looks like there may be showers during the day with the heavy stuff after dark.

They are a bad school.

There isn't much you can say to dispute that.

I don't care for their situational ethics on the matter of tenure. Their honor code? Don't enroll if you don't want to live under it because there are numerous cheaper places with less restrictive honor codes.

The actual school in Virginia that has in-person classes is relatively selective and outside their biology and geography courses, pretty mainstream.

It's the online school with it's papermill stink that rubs me really wrong.

Forecast called for .01" of rain every hour during the NMSU too.

It dumped over 2 inches.

I doubt there is any school in this conference that hasn't made money in the same way. I don't it it's as much but I bet it's a bunch.

You could say this about just about every college in America. Look at Boone, it has grown fat and happy on easy access to student loan money. Most college towns and bigger cities' college neighborhoods are the same. There are many thing to criticize LU about, and many things to respect as well, but criticizing their acceptance of student loan money without also criticizing every other school for doing the same is disingenuous.

Liberty's online program with it's enrollment of 75,000 to 90,000 depending on who you believe requires nothing more than a high school diploma or a GED and you don't even have to provide proof. You just fill out this form and say you did. https://www.liberty.edu/media/1270/High_...ric_v1.pdf

Limiting admission to students with some probability of successfully completing college vs taking anyone are different things.

If this is the case then I don’t see how Liberty could ever join CUSA/AAC/SBC in the future (unless they make some major changes).

But where does most of their cash come from and how is it used as a competitive advantage in athletics spending?

I did classes online and in person at LU. I also went in person to Louisville and South Carolina. The classes, to me, were harder online than in person. I ended with an overall GPA of 3.9 but at LU it was a 3.55.
