NCAA NET rankings for CAA
The Tribe starts off the first rankings as the top team in the CAA but sadly the league overall does not look good. Our ranking of 120 was the 7th worst for the top team in their conference. Here are the rankings:

120 Tribe
122 Delaware
134 CoC
144 Towson
185 NE
206 Hofstra
239 Drexel
245 JMU
271 UNCW
326 Elon

Helping our NET currently are NET rankings of #9 Stanford and #37 Oklahoma. Upcoming foe St Joe's is 228 but St Francis (PA) is 141.

They are 5-4 with 4 losses to good teams - VCU by 14, Richmond in OT, Delaware by 15 and Florida State by 15

None of their 5 wins are that great with best win likely being @ 228 NET St. Joseph's by 16 and 217 American by 3 - both common opponents after Thursday

No bad losses but no great wins. Our win @Wofford is better (especially after yesterday) but could be a good matchup.

Games through yesterday are included in the NET ratings. North Carolina is only at 95 in the NET rankings and have lost Anthony for an indefinite period of time

With everyone almost at the end of the OCC schedule, the low NET score for all of the CAA will not help the CAA tourney champ get a good seed. Making the Dance is nice but winning in the Dance is the dream.

RE: NCAA NET rankings for CAA
The CAA is 15th in the RPI, 17th in the Sagarin, and 18th in the NET. The CAA's average rank is a little better in the NET than in the Sagarin. I don't pay for KenPom to get his conference rankings, but the CAA's average rank is worse in KenPom than in the NET and Sagarin. There are 32 conferences, and the CAA is in the middle. It's a little improvement over last season when the CAA was 18th in the NET, 18th in the RPI, and 19th in the Sagarin.

138 William & Mary
140 Delaware
158 Northeastern
184 Hofstra
209 James Madison
223 Drexel

310 and 339, the reasons we, absolutely, can not afford losses to UNCW or Elon (at home or on the road).

The first major goal of the conference season is to avoid playing on Saturday, followed by getting a good match up on Sunday. Winding up in the opposite bracket from Hofstra and Northeastern is icing on the cake. All of the above goals are the first and foremost reason why we cannot afford losses to UNCW and Elon.

If Hofstra and Northeastern are in different halves, you will be in the same half as one of them. Furthermore, Charleston is undefeated in the CAA and leads in the NET. It's too early to name one or a couple of teams to avoid. You have the second highest attendance, and attendance leader Charleston is far from D.C., so you could have more fans than your opponent all of your games there.

The average rank of 199.9 is slightly worse than the first average rank of 199.2. The average rank of all teams is 177.

RE: NCAA NET rankings for CAA
I give up on understanding the NET. Homes losses occurred yesterday by the top 3 CAA teams in NET with us at #119 losing to #170 Towson, #124 CoC losing to #320 UNCW, and #129 NE losing to #195 Delaware. Here are the new NET after this:

127 NE
129 CoC
133 Tribe
154 Towson
155 Hofstra
190 Delaware
214 Drexel
263 JMU
300 UNCW
312 Elon

Yeah, nobody understands this stuff. We beat Northeastern twice and they just lost to Elon - but they are 25 slots better than us. The previous week they were only 6 slots better.

I'm assuming it has to do with their opponents doing better than ours and all of their close losses. Just a guess though
