ALL OF HARRISONBURG
It sure would be great if all of Harrisonburg would come to the game Saturday night and cheer on the Dukes. Show JMU your appreciation for all that they do for the City of Harrisonburg.

Townies! They really didn't like us when I was there in 69-73!

Fast forward to 1993-1998, and their sentiments had not changed. I do think townies are a little more accepting of all things JMU now, though.

RE: ALL OF HARRISONBURG
To all the locals I offended with obnoxious and reckless behavior during my college years- I apologize. I've witnessed and participated in some stuff that none of us would appreciate as residents and homeowners.

I say this as I'm looking at my Christmas tree, reminded of the newly-planted fir tree I ripped out of someone's yard at 3 in the morning (roots and all) to put in our crappy off-campus living room one year.

Alger has been a strong proponent of service, which I'm sure has contribute to improved relations with the community. In fact, for your next project how about planting some fir trees along Maplehurst cause I can't remember which yard I took the tree from? 03-thumbsup

RE: ALL OF HARRISONBURG
JMU is the #1 employer in Harrisonburg. When I think townies, I think people who hang out downtown who are in their 20's, 30's and 40's and refuses to leave the town. But I think all of Harrisonburg, whether "townie" or not, recognize the positive impact that JMU brings and appreciate them. Even if we get frustrated at traffic or frat houses with trashy yards.

The Townies owe it to our team to be in Bridgeforth Stadium Saturday night!
