RE: Collegiate Baseball Releases First of 2020 Preseason Polls
Hearing the tentative rotation is...

Friday - DeLeon
Saturday - Brogdon
Sunday - Bordwine assuming no relief work prior

Consensus has been that we need to outhit our opponents and if we get quality starts I like our chances.

Looking forward to Friday!

I'm not sure we can get many quality starts (e.g., 6 innings with 3 or less runs scored), but if we can throw strikes, keep free passes to a minimum and hold the opposition to 5 - 6 runs, we should win a lot of games.

Agreed. Certainly need to dial back our justification/definition of a quality start.

If we score 7+ runs I really like our chances. The lineup is STRONG.

Again, I think we have the potential to have the best offense we've had in over a decade, but the worst pitching we've had in 3 decades....and, unfortunately, our offense will not be facing Rice pitching.

Run support does amazing things for a pitcher/pitching staff's confidence.

Never underestimate run support.

Garcia is supposed to start Sunday, but only go one inning.

Roel did throw the other day and was apparently nasty. I hope Bob is correct and that he does start Sunday to get his feet wet. Need him for the long haul.

The plan is to go 1 inning, then 2, etc. to gradually build up innings. They want him to start so he'll have a set routine. As a reliever he might have to get up, sit back down, etc.

Makes sense.

I am glad he is working back into it - big things ahead if he can stay healthy.

Yup. The game plan is to have him back at full strength and as our Friday starter by the start of conference play mid-March.
