My son has put the official black JMU jersey on his Christmas list. It's the one big thing he is hoping for this year. It looks like the black jerseys listed on the bookstore website only are available with number 19. Does anyone have any experience ordering a jersey from the bookstore website? Hoping to get a different number. Thanks for any help!

I'm pretty sure they only sell the current year as the jersey number. So last year was #18, next year will be #20, etc. Ties into the whole not wanting to profit from individual players thing, I think.

Ok thanks for the response...the reason makes sense. It does look sweet; I'm glad we can order real stuff compared to the knockoff-looking stuff that used to be sold

I have black jersey with VL2’s number on it (no name of course) purchased his senior season at the bookstore. Perhaps some are still around or on a secondary market. I wear mine once a year on blackout day over a purple sweatshirt because it’s usually later in the season and chilly.

Buy it and then tell him the history of #19 for JMU when you give it to him. Once he hears about Scotty McGee he will be honored to rep his number.
