If Marion Leaves, Do We Still Run the GoGo
Marion may be interested, but he has zero history that I can discern with the Cal head coach Justin Wilcox. That isn't to say that he could blow him away in an interview, but I just seems like a coach like Wilcox would have a network of guys that he has a current relationship with. Id guess that it is a spot that is filled relatively soon.

I have nothing against coaches looking at other jobs, I just don't get what Marion's done that would make him remotely appealing yet. He's got a ton of potential, and our offense looked better this year than last, but it's not like we lit the world on fire.

Marion has done nothing that I have been impressed with so far... and he is very vocal about how awesome he is.

With a multi-talented quarterback like Mathis with whom to work he may not be so quick to leave right now.

RE: If Marion Leaves, Do We Still Run the GoGo
You guys are being a little harsh IMO. With basically the same players as last year, without Muse, but with Mathis, Yoder, and Everson we scored over 25 points and 340 yards per game. A year before we averaged about 14 points and 240 per game. That's a huge difference. So I'm buying what he's selling.

Given that, I think his brand is red hot and somewhat preceded him given his invitation to the NFL coaches summit, the book and so on. I really don't want him to leave just yet, but I think he's probably got the NFL in mind eventually.

Can’t imagine Marion is a very effective recruiter for the Tribe when he is so visibly trying to get a different job. Makes no sense to me why he’s on the road.

Ultimately, I want Marion to stick around. If he seeks something different personally and professionally, I thank him for his time and wish him well. From the day he arrived he has been very vocal in his appreciation for the opportunity at W&M, but also very clear that his goals are well beyond here. The leaving was inevitable. I think people are just surprised it is after an up and down 1st season.

As long as we are able to bring in talent and retain what we have (namely the Pittsburgh area recruits he was lead on) I believe the offense will continue to grow.

Cal has their offensive coordinator, and it’s not Brennan Marion.

Bill Musgrave, former NFL coach, was named their coordinator today.
