FBS v FCS / Bowl Games
I took a look at the upcoming Bowl Schedule. 39 Bowl Games!! In fact, every single FBS team that got at least 6 wins and a .500 record is going to a bowl game -- except one (Toledo Rockets; also Missouri but they are on NCAA probation). Most of the games I have never even heard of and probably will never hear of again.

Meanwhile, FCS continues to have interesting playoffs -- although I'll grant that the FBS 4-team playoff seems to have gotten it right this year and with three 13-0 teams it should be quite interesting. I think that the FBS playoffs should expand to 16 teams -- consisting of the winners of the 10 FBS conferences plus 6 at-large teams (from the P5, no doubt). They would then probably go to 24 with the top 8 having byes. Sure, it is a lot of games but only one more than FCS is playing this year. They can go back to 11 games to account for their conference championship games (plus playoffs). They can incorporate the many crappy bowls into the playoff formula if they still want to have those (but that would mean no home field advantage for the higher seeded team) or else just keep the crappy bowls for the teams that don't make the playoffs. So sure, there are issues --- but nothing that couldn't be worked out.

NDSU took #5 Montana State to the woodshed.

West Florida looks amazing in the D2 championship game.

Don’t look now but Minnesota state gets the ball with a chance to tie. 2:30 to go.

UWF, picked to lose, won by 8. I think their program has only been around for a few years. Their QB, a RFr, threw for over 500 yards with 6 TDs.

JMU is all over Weber St. Looks like another Dukes - Bison slugfest.

RE: FBS v FCS / Bowl Games
Anyone who has watched FCS games this year had to predict a JMU/NDSU final. I thought NDSU was off a bit this year, but they looked really good against MSU. Young, but mobile and big RSF QB, and a lighting bolt at WR. Their lines are FBS caliber. JMU as well, speed and size. Both of these teams should be FBS.

NDSU surprised me with the size and speed of their outside receivers. Should be quite a challenge for the JMU DB's.

Did you watch JMU yesterday? DBs played strong. That doesn’t even really include Wayne Davis imo. I like how we match up.

Yep, watched the whole game. Weber had no one as tall as the two NDSU receivers. Not saying your DB's can't do the job, but those guys aren't normal size FCS receivers.

Any JMU winning score will satisfy me but I think we win by at least 7.

Nice crowds for the Bahamas Bowl game between Buffalo and Charlotte. Sure a trip to the Bahamas would be sweet, but that is awful.

RE: FBS v FCS / Bowl Games
Playing before a nearly empty stadium yesterday in Florida, a so-called bowl game named, unbelieveably, "the Bad Boy Mowers Sasparilla Bowl" showed everything that's wrong with college football. A mismatched, talentwise, "game" between two entirely forgettable university football programs, Marshall and Central Florida, the game ended up 45-28 and was never close.

It was an exhibition of players preening, pointing for first downs, staring down opponents, gratuitous late hits and shoving, mugging for the cameras,
exaggerated walking and some ten or so fifteen yard penalties for roughing...all while their coaches looked on, seemingly uncaringly, from the sidelines.
There must have been a dozen plays that ended with shoving and glaring. Two players were ejected for having more than one unsportsmanlike conduct penalties
with one walking off the field to the locker room like the conquering hero to the plaudits of his teammates.

Give us a break: this game should have been stopped at halftime and both schools should drop football as a failed experiment.

Bubbadog do your homework for once. Look at Central Florida's record and national ranking over the last several years. I assume you also know the tragic history of Marshall's program. "Entirely forgettable university football programs." You continue to spew misinformation and show a lack of either understanding of the college football landscape or only want to remember the days of players with colorful nicknames.

That's a lot of detailed information for such a bad game that highlighted everything wrong with college football. Shoulda changed the channel, BD.

Bubbadog has outdone himself this time.

Central Florida

2019 10-3 (3 losses by a total of 7 points)
2018 12-1 (Lost to LSU in the Fiesta Bowl by 8)
2017 13-0 (Finished in the Top 10. Beat #7 Auburn in the Peach Bowl)

Some people should drop journalism as a failed experiment.

I would bet the number of people who watched that game is greater than the number of people who subscribe to Flo.

Though Bad Boy Mowers is definitely a weird sounding sponsor.

RE: FBS v FCS / Bowl Games
UCF and Marshall - those "forgettable" programs are both former FCS programs who moved up to FBS. Marshall went to 6 FCS National Championship games and won 2 of them. Who can forget Daunte Culpepper at UCF? Both of them have done well at the FBS level and both are programs that JMU boosters who want to go FBS hold up as programs to emulate.

I do agree that preening and posturing has gotten out of hand in college football. However, since I even saw too much of it at Zable this year (certainly more than I wanted to see), I don't think our high horse should be too high.
