We got them to come to Ypsi in 2012 (and we beat them). It was a 2-for-1 deal, where we played at Purdue in 2011 and 2013. I’m guessing Ohio’s deal with them is similar. It’s very cool that Purdue does that. Not many P5’s do.

We have twin arenas. Love the nostalgia of it. Same architects. Granted they have done many more updates. Wonder what their fans will feel seeing the Convo?!!

RE: MAC Basketball Week 6 (12/9 thru 12/15)
In college football P5 conference teams play 3-4 OOC games and G5 programs can still get P5 to agree to 1 and 1 or 2 for 1. In college basketball where teams play 13 OOC games it's surprising those same teams seem less reluctant to agree to such a deal. 2-3 years ago Kent had Oregon State come play at the MACC. They had it built into the football. It would be nice if more AD took similar type approaches.

Ohio played at Purdue last year, and in lieu of a two-for-one and because they obviously wouldn't do a true home-and-home, my guess is that Ohio took a smaller payout on the 2017 football game at Purdue.

I could be way off on this, but was it related to a football deal? I feel like sometime in the past year or two a MAC team got a home bball game through some sort of football deal.

If ti was a football deal wouldn't Kent be playing Oregon State sometime soon? I do not remember them being on the schedule.

Kent played Oregon State three straight seasons, beat them twice and should have won all three!!!

Sorry i should have been more clear. The one post made it sound like that set of games was due in part from a football deal but I do not recall Oregon State being on the football schedule.

theoretically, if any of the top 10 finish non-conf strong they will be top 100 teams. not saying that will happen. and, obviously, teams like EMU, Ohio, NIU, CMU and Ball St would probably need a major upset to move up that much, but the schedule sets up for all of those 10 to be pretty well ranked with a strong next 2 weeks of play.

The MAC didn't look so good yesterday. Buffalo lost at home to kenpom #261 Army and Toledo struggled to beat a 1-9 Detroit team that was without their 24 ppg scorer.

CMU led most of the way at Texas but kinda imploded down the stretch. WMU gets a good road win at Manhattan on a late 3. Yes, Toledo struggled most of the way against a hot shooting Detroit team, but did rally to finish strong and confidently which is a good sign for a Toledo team that has struggled at times to finish games.

Manhattan and good win shouldn't be used in the same sentence. I know WMU was 1-2 point underdogs but that's because WMU is really bad this year.
