RE: SEC ;2019-20 Bowl Schedule
Anyone have the downlow on what happened with the Gator/Music City/Belk? Rockytoptalk had TN in the Music City and then maybe in the Belk vs. VT, then in the Gator but apparently the Athletic had the Gator all along. Did TN lobby, did Gator lobby? And how mad are KY fans?

Evidently TN couldn't make up it's mind and ended up wanting what someone else was more excited about having. I guess they started thinking they were missing out on something.
After first thinking they'd rather play in Nashville for a pretty big home field advantage against Louisville, they started to figure out that, a.) it's no longer a drive from Louisville to Nashville, than Knoxville to Nashville, and, b.), the Kentucky fans were happy to be playing somewhere else other than the Music City Bowl.
So, they don't know why they wanted to play in Florida, but if Kentucky wanted to do it, then Kentucky must've known something they didn't. And the reason they got to kick KY out, was because of having the same record, and having beaten them head to head.
But KY fans won't be mad. I'd bet they'll have more fans show up in Charlotte than TN will have show up in Jacksonville. What can you say? Tennessee is just Tennessee. They really don't know what they want. They just want what someone else has.

Should be a good game against two disgruntled teams.

Turned down free tickets to the Houston Bowl
An incredibly disappointing season ending with a bowl in exotic Houston vs a Big 8 team is simply not something I’m willing to put time and money into this year. Just watch it at home.

Well that and you best pass rusher is taking the bowl off to get ready for the NFL. That sucks too!

Happens to a lot of teams these days
Their QB and top RB won’t be there either

They need to find a way to expand the postseason in a way that's meaningful and just drop the 47 bowl games.
Right now, the CFP are the only games that matter one iota. There are too many other games for even the old, traditional bowl games to have meaning any longer.
The current system is still making money, but surely they could come up with something better than exhibition games.

I believe bowl sponsors for many of these lesser bowls will become very scarce in the future. Not much bang for the buck.
