RE: UNI Game
Tickets purchased and ready to go!! Hope the weather is OK, forecast now is calling for rain/snow on Friday. Ugh! Saturday doesn't look much better.

Also noted when buying tickets that due to the Grad School Graduation Friday night Convo parking will not be available for football parking. Wonder where they will relocate those?

RE: UNI Game
We are the better team and while their defense is solid, I dont think their offense can keep pace if special teams and our defense play like the last 3 quarters yesterday. Weather however is a big equalizer and it's not looking great so expect a closer game than perfect conditions, but dukes win by 10+

Yep. It's too bad, but I expect attendance for this to be abysmal. Forecast can change of course, but really looking bleak at the moment. Steady rain and temps in the mid 30's. I bet a lot of students, who finished off exams, will just say to heck with it and head on home rather than stand in the rain (when they can watch it on national TV). I say "it's too bad" because this could and should be a nice exposure moment for JMU, but unfortunately the stadium might be a third full, if that. Bummer.

Oh well. I guess the Dukes will just have to go out and kick the ever living crap out of UNI to make up for it. 03-thumbsup

UNI plays in a dome, plus road games at USD and NDSU are also domes. They played 9 of their 13 games this season indoors. It could impact them more than we realize.

RE: UNI Game
The only good I see from getting the Friday night game is that it gets our guys exposure on ESPN2. I suppose they'll like that.

But we're looking at an even lighter crowd than we had yesterday, with a situation in which a large section of our fan base can't make a 7 PM kickoff in Harrisonburg, temperatures in the 30s, school out and rain, sleet or snow. This is shaping up to be the all-time worst attended JMU game in Bridgeforth history - which is a shame, because this is a very good team which deserves better.

Gripe, gripe, gripe. Let's win. (And let's get a SATURDAY AFTERNOON game in the semis.)

RE: UNI Game
What weather are you all viewing? WHSV shows a slight chance of rain Friday. I view Accweather and find it reliable and they show only a 30% chance of rain. I am lucky that I can take a 1/2 day off work, spend the night at an economical hotel and be back in RVA by 8 am Saturday and have my whole weekend. Hopefully Friday night turns out dry, if not I certainly understand a lack of attendance. Cold rain is the worst, but if it is just cold it will be fun. Sam Houston game is one of my all time favorites.

For the quarters this year, there is no "good" time for us. 3 of the 4 games are on Friday night and the one Saturday game starts at 12:00.

RE: UNI Game
I guess this will serve as the official thread. Fine by me.

I usually would start the game threads with the opponents schedule results, top player stats & team stat comparisons Sun PM or Mon (Sat evening last weekend with the bye), but with the game being Fri evening & the quarterfinals, I can see people wanting to start the talk earlier. I wouldn’t be able to get to it until tonight anyway.

I vote that you start your usual thread. It's become your thing and I look for it each week.

RE: UNI Game
UNI has several key injuries. Not sure how many, if any, of those injured will be available Friday night.

Their defense is said to be very good, ranked 7th in FCS. Their offense is non-existent, ranking 109th out of 124 teams. They average 22.5 points per game.

They play in a dome that appears to be much nicer than the Fargodump (image below), so I would think that inclement weather will favor us slightly.

UNI's freshman quarterback, Will McElvain, throws an average of 25 passes per game, completing 54% of them (20 touchdowns, 7 ints). He averages 28 yards rushing for a 2.8 ypc average.

Funny post on AGS from a Sam Houston fan.... "JMU will score 45. The over/under for the game should be 45."

I don’t know if UNI’s “dome” is better than that dump NDSU plays in (it wouldn’t take much), but at least the yard lines are straight in Iowa.

RE: UNI Game
This game reminds me a bit of the Delaware playoff game or Stony brook playoff game a few years ago. Not too worried about the UNI offense but it'll be a struggle to move the ball at times but in the end we'll do enough to win comfortably

Our offense has gained so much confidence over the course of the season, I think we will score in the neighborhood of 40 points, possibly much more, and hold UNI to a feel gold which they pick up in garbage time.

Dawgs..... 45

RE: UNI Game
Is it that much colder in Cedar Falls than Ames (Iowa St) and Iowa City (Univ of Iowa) that they need a dome? They both have outdoor stadiums. Heck, Univ of Minnesota to the north plays outdoors too.
