So Boise > Cinci > App State

As predicted, Virginia took the ACC Pity spot at the bottom of the rankings.

3 AAC Teams bolster Cincy's chances if they win Saturday

With Memphis No. 17, Boise State No. 19 and Cincinnati No. 20, the Memphis-Cincinnati winner should get Group of 5 bid to Cotton Bowl

I don't see Penn St. or Wisconsin beating 11. Auburn or 12. Alabama.

Maybe they are trying to create some controversy if Wisconsin beats Ohio St. Or keep out Baylor if Ohio St., UGA, Utah and OU lose, sticking Ohio St. 3rd and Wisconsin in 4th.

I would still put Boise/Cincinnati a tossup.
But its hard to see any way App St. could get in.
Note that Navy is #24.

Ohio State, LSU, Georgia and Clemson are guaranteed in with a win.

Ohio State - can they still sneak in with a close loss?
Same with LSU
Georgia and Clemson have no shot with a loss.

Utah/Oklahoma/Baylor's best shot are convincing OSU and LSU wins. A Clemson loss would open the door for both the Big 12 Champ and Utah.

2nd place AAC or even 3rd place (Navy) would be a more attractive choice than UVA (after UVA falls completely out of the rankings due to getting blown out by Clemson). UVA kind of reminds me of when UCONN got into the Fiesta Bowl back in the day. This year may serve as a catalyst for the AAC champ to eventually get that coveted tie-in to a major bowl. Particularly if the AAC continues its upward trajectory next year as well. SMU may even slide in next week depending on how the conference championship games shake out. SMU is currently #26 & UCF is #29 in the AP.

Ohio St and LSU are locks unless they get blown out.

I assume Peach will get whoever ends up #1. Top seed gets location preference and all the teams that could be #1 should pick the Peach (unless they think they are playing against UGA).

App isn't 100% out of this. If:
-App crushes Louisiana
-Cincinnati barely beats Memphis
-Hawaii wins
App could convince the committee of who they are and get in.
It's still ridiculous that we were 25th last week and behind two 4-loss schools.

Yeah if Ohio St is #1 and Utah is #4- Ohio St would definitely pick Peach there... Same with LSU obviously. And really even if opponent is Oklahoma or Baylor.

RE: Week 14 CFP Rankings
Some things that stand out to me, with the facts as the rankings seem to indicate, and my level of agreement with them:

1) The facts: If Georgia loses, Utah vs Oklahoma/Baylor will be extremely close for #4. My gut tells me if Utah and Oklahoma both win by the same margin, Oklahoma will get the nod based on beating the better team.

My take: I tend to agree with this. As much as I would prefer Utah in over Oklahoma just on general principle, Oklahoma will have the stronger resume, so Utah needs to win bigger.

2) The facts: App State, as many of us predicted, has zero chance at the NY6 spot.

My take: I agree with this. App just doesn't have the resume to jump even a two-loss Cincy.

3) The facts: With Cincy just one spot behind Boise, they are poised to overtake them by beating Memphis. Boise needs to win big and Cincy needs to squeak by for Boise to get the nod. If Cincy and Boise both win "the same way", I think Cincy jumps Boise.

My take: I disagree with the CFP. IMO, a two-loss Cincy just doesn't merit the bid over a one-loss Boise. Too many unconvincing wins down the stretch. The MC has Cincy at #22, behind both #20 App and #19 Boise. That's more like it.

4) The facts: Somebody in the room hates Notre Dame. Michigan, with three losses, stays ahead of them. Notre Dame had one bad game all year, and the CFP treats them like a pariah and says "Camping World Bowl here you go!". Michigan was routed by both Ohio State and Wisconsin, and was beaten worse by Penn State than the Irish were by Georgia, but get more respect.

My take: The MC has ND at #10, five full spots ahead of the CFP. They should be right in the thick of the running for the at-large Cotton spot.

You are 100% delusional. App is absolutely positively out of it. They can't jump Cincy, who is playing #17 Memphis at Memphis, no matter how badly they crush Louisiana-Lafayette. Nobody cares about that at all, nor should they.

If Big Ten gets Orange bowl spot- the Citrus opens for the ACC. Notre Dame would head there to face.... Alabama. Yes please.
