Just curious about that

Simple

OSU Top 25 wins: (Dominated every other game outside top 25)
#20 Cincinnati (42-0)
@ #14 Michigan (56-27)
#10 Penn State (28-17)
#8 Wisconsin (38-7)
Neutral against #8 Wisconsin

LSU Top 25 Wins: (Played harder non top 25 teams with similar offensive dominance, but not defensively)
@ #12 Alabama (46-41)
#11 Auburn (23-20)
#9 Florida (42-28)
Neutral against #4 Georgia

Not so simple...

Cincinnati will fall out with a loss
Wisconsin will fall

LSU has much better wins

Last week App was 25th, and behind two 4-loss schools. This week they finally jumped USC (who won). If all of the planets align, we could still jump them. Cincinnati has played like garbage down the stretch. Beating USF and ECU by 3. Temple by 2. Why should they be ahead of us? They got the luxury of beating up an awful UCLA team at home. We got our two P5 wins on the road, and beat the second best team in our conference on the road. AP poll rightfully has us above them.

I'm sorry, I know you love App State, but ...

01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle 01-wingedeagle

And hey, I sympathize with you. I agree, the CFP has overrated Cincy. They are three spots higher than their MC rating. Maybe the Aresco propaganda has worked? But for whatever reason, you are screwed.

Let this sink in: There is NO WAY that Cincy, already ranked ahead of App State, is going to FALL BEHIND App State if they beat the #16 team on the road while App State beats a nobody.

NO WAY.

The "nobody" is 10-2. It's a shame that the Cajuns aren't ranked. Their only loses were to Mississippi State and us.

The committee's problem is that they focus on losses too much. It's why Penn State got screwed over in 2016 in favor of Ohio State despite beating the Buckeyes and winning the B1G. The GS loss crippled us, but App should not be below a 2 loss G5, regardless of the teams they lost to.

As for Aresco, he is giving the AAC some clout. It's a shame that the Sun Belt has an invisible Commissioner right now.

Like I said, I agree with you. Cincy should be ranked behind App State right now, and thus App State should have a chance to get the NY6 bid if they both win and Boise loses.

But that is not the reality of the situation. The reality is, App State has zero chance of getting the NY6 bid.

No doubt we're done with this ranking, but it really makes no sense. If we were ahead of Cincy they would still have a shot to jump us and Boise with a win over Memphis. The committee just threw away a story line heading into Championship week where three G5 games would have had a direct impact on the Cotton Bowl.

It seems like they really want an AAC team in that game as they can easily justify Cincy jumping Boise based off of this weeks rankings.

I do not know why the CFP is enamored with Cincinnati. They have played two good teams this year and lost to both decisively. They have no wins worth mentioning except arguably negatively - three of them, USF, ECU, and Temple, they were extremely lucky to win.

Heck, to hear their fans talk of it, they wear it as a badge of honor that they got blown out and blanked by Ohio State. And apparently the CFP agrees with them!

And, they've gotten worse as the season progressed. They haven't looked anything like a top 25 team since October.

10-2 is 10-2. I noticed you failed to mention that UC is the only team to hold UCF to under 30 points in 2 years.

I don't think you can say much better wins.

Why would I mention something so trivial? It pales in comparison to the things I did mention.

Yes, the CFP has Cincy too high.
