Fritz tipped his hand. Get ready to lose a bowl game by 30+ and what was going to be a good recruiting class.

It's for the best that he leaves. I thank him for changing the narrative, and I am not bitter about this situation.
You only need to pay Hunter 3 to 4 years

IIRC he wanted to stay at GSU and y'all had an AD that didn't pay him.

If we were to back up the brinks truck and dump 4m a year at him he'd stay for a long time. It will be interesting to see how Dannen handles the new ESPN money.
He was looking for a retirement check a d he has stated repeatedly that he does not want to be one of those old coaches still coaching. He turn 56 next April. I think he coaches max 5 years if someone gives him a huge check. Bet on the under.

Fritz isn’t going anywhere. No team can sell a below .500 AAC coach to their fan base. Hunter also isn’t going anywhere unless UGA offers $5+M in a few years. I don’t see that happening. It’s a good time to be a Tulane fan, the long dark athletic department winter is over

Ehhhhhh....

He’s won 200 games as a HC. This wouldn’t be a Chad Morris type hire.

Fritz has earned respect.

No P5’s want Bill Clark this year (see 247 article that he hasn’t received a single call from a p5). this guy Panama probably didn’t think Willie Fritz would leave GA southern for Tulane either. Tulane can give Bill
Clark a Millon dollar raise or even double his salary.

Anyway, it’s not going to come to this. Willie isn’t likely going anywhere. .
He isn't leaving UAB

Lol. Let me guess “his family loves the city and it’s his dream job”. Some of you guys are so gullible.

He has never had a job outside the state of Alabama and you think he finally uproots his family for Tulane and New Orleans. LOL!
Short of an SEC job with SEC retirement cash and probably IN Alabama, no he isn't leaving.

Absolutely. He’s a coach—it’s what they do. A million or two more per year is real money that makes a real difference for his family....not to mention his teams would play on real tv—not Facebook. As for moving to New Orleans, it ain’t like he’s currently living in Camelot. He isn’t going to be a lifer at UAB. That’s just not how it works anymore.

He doesn't want to live in Camelot. That's why he is still in Bama

Well well. Turns out 6-6 doesn't get Fritz into the SEC. The good news for him is that 6 or 7 wins means that he can make an extra million or two per year here until retirement - making a minor bowl game gets you endless extensions at Tulane. I feel like this was his window to jump to the P5.

I mean he has done a nice job at Tulane. I mean they gave Auburn all they could handle. If they can get bowl eligible most years and occasionally have a 10+ win season I think most Tulane fans would be satisfied. Certainly better than the alternative of 2 and 3 win seasons. Them fielding a competitive team is crucial for the leagues success. For instance if they hadn't scheduled Auburn and had a different P5 that maybe allowed them to go 4-0 ooc that would be huge in elevating the league.

Fritz is a good coach and gets more out of 2-3 star talent than most coaches. Its a blessing that he didnt leave because I truly think he can have tulane up to 9-10 win seasons. Perfect timing too with 2025 approaching.

Guess your keeping Fritz. Arkansas and Missouri both hired other coaches. 07-coffee3

I agree with this fully (though the nine- and 10-win seasons would me more infrequent than the five- to seven-win campaigns).

Fritz can coach. Tulane is now a solid respectable program.
