Navy vs Air Force could be Thanksgiving weekend and then Army vs Navy on their normal time slot. Hell of a way to end the year.

I'm not sure how much this would help the perception of the league and may even hurt it tbh. It would be viewed as gimmicky rather than respected football. The service academies are just at too big of a disadvantage. College football isn't going back to the 1950s.

It would be cool but maybe down the road when inclusion to the big boys club is completely off the table. I still have a sliver of hope.

Considering all three Academies are likely to win 10 games in a season in one of the last two years I would say college football isn't going back to the early 1990s.

Furthermore, we are the "American" conference... having Air Force only helps more with branding.

One of the most watched games is Navy vs Army, and Air Force vs Navy has good ratings... so why not put it into a more primetime slot? Seems like a slam dunk to me.

Think about this year... 10 win Air Force playing against 10 win Navy... tell me thats not a high ratings game.

Making the assumption Navy gets another win in their last two games, each service academy will have had at least 2 10+ win seasons since 2014, and Air Force has had 3. All 3 of the service academies have the right fit at head coach right now, and it seems like all 3 coaches are young enough and happy enough to keep it going for at least 5-10 more years.

Hell, not only do I think we should add Air Force (all sports for convenience and likelihood to join) but once they do join, we should offer Army a scheduling agreement if they do not want to join. Id love to have Army play 6 AAC games a year. It would make scheduling easier for them and they would still have a shot at making a bowl.

Thing is, if Army joins the AAC, two of their current games will become conference games anyway, so if they want a scheduling agreement, they might as well go all in. My only hesitation would be I don't want a conference mate scheduling 2 FCS games per year as they often do.

They can just schedule UConn and UMass there won't be a difference. Navy has to remain an ooc game no matter what unless they meet for the championship game. It requires some scheduling juggles and some added clause to the ESPN/CBS contracts but it could be done.

ODU would be a great rival for both Navy and ECU. Norfolk is the largest Navy base on the east coast. And ECU is a two hour drive from Norfolk.

ECU needs someone to beat in football and basketball so you are correct

Football is a split - they could barely beat us this year during our worst year in program history. Our new coach will be announced soon. And does ECU play basketball?

Or people just need to do some research. Also Aresco needs to be slapped for thinking putting a cross division game as a black friday game was a good idea. If we go back to divisions the month of Novemeber should be off limits for cross division games to prevent repeating championship games. Had Cincy and Memphis played earlier in the year Boise and App would have no shot at this since both would have recovered and likely overtaken Boise and App in the polls. As it is he better hope Cincy stays in front of App and right behind Boise tonight or he will have set us up to get screwed and not by ESPN this time.

That's a **** article when it doesn't even bring up the longest rivalry played.

As well as Memphis. We won 3 conference championships while there.

We already have some light weight rilvaries among this group bellow but IF said group can maintain their impressive football performances there's no reason rivalries will cement themselves quite nicely.

Cincinnati
Houston
Memphis
Navy
SMU
Temple
UCF

Came in to literally say "Hello", until I saw this. UH didnt crap themselves. They got their asses kicked.

Would love to see the Black and Blue bowl back on the schedule every year. One of our few historic rivals in football, but we're stuck goofing around with Sun Belt schools
