All-ACC teams announced
http://theacc.com/news/2019/12/3/athlete...-team.aspx

Quote:A voting panel of 46 media members and the league’s 14 head coaches cast ballots for the 2019 All-ACC Football Teams, with three points awarded for each first-team vote, two points for each second-team vote and one point for each third-team selection.

Clemson junior running back Travis Etienne, who has rushed for 1,386 yards this season and became the ACC career leader in touchdowns scored with 57, led the balloting with 176 total points. Tigers teammate Isaiah Simmons led all defensive players with 157 points at one of the first-team linebacker spots. NCAA record-setting kicker Nick Sciba of Wake Forest and Virginia kick returner Joe Reed each amassed 156 points to earn spots as first-team specialists.

Virginia’s Reed was a dual first-team selection, as he also led the voting at the all-purpose back position. Louisville’s Hassan Hall was a similar dual choice as second-team all-purpose and third-team specialist.

This year’s All-ACC team also features an offensive/defensive first-team brother combination as Wake Forest’s Sage Surratt was the leading vote-getter among wide receivers, and North Carolina linebacker Chazz Surratt placed second behind Simmons in the balloting at his position. They are the first brothers to earn All-ACC first team honors in the same season since Virginia identical twins Tiki Barber (running back) and Ronde’ Barber (cornerback) in 1995 and 1996.

Man, the ACC was deep at WR this year!
(Still, hard to believe Ross wasn't at least 3rd team)

The only two WR in the ACC I'd pick before Ross if I were drafting a team would be Higgins and Surratt.

RE: All-ACC teams announced
I didn't look up enough info to compare Ross to the 2nd & 3rd team WR's, but I think Atwell earned his spot on the 1st team. 61 receptions for 1,129 yards (18.5 average) and 12 TD's. While he likely would have finished behind Surratt if Sage had stayed healthy, Atwell led the league in receiving TD's and yards.

Atwell is good, but he's had the bonus of being the #1 WR on his team and has played beyond the 3rd quarter in the majority of Louisville's games. Ross only played in 11 games and was typically chilling on the sidelines midway through the third quarter in every game except A&M and UNC. Four players caught double digit passes for Louisville this year, nine did for Clemson.

Sure, I don't take issue with any of that. The all-conference teams however aren't a list of mock draft placements. While voters are free to take anything into consideration when voting and some *may* have considered the above, for skill position guys on all-conference teams, the largest element of the voting process for better or worse seems to be the counting stats. That's not just the ACC, but across conferences.

Credit to the ACC for announcing this on Packer and Durham. It's nice when obvious slam dunks like that aren't left on the court by the league office.

Atwell is literally a huge difference maker on a team. His speed and ability to escape the opponent is rarely seen on the field. I definitely think he deserved his spot -- he carried the team in many games (well him and Hawkins).
