Funny how I wish pestilance and impotency on teams during the season, and once the bell rings I want you to hire the best coach out there. Good luck. I like the Cignetti idea. Beamer might be a good hire too, he certainly knows the state, has a big name, and has been on some good staffs.

Cignetti and Beamer would both be great IMO.

Could Willie Taggart be a realistic candidate?

Theoretically, given that ODU's AD hired Willie as WKU head coach when he was the AD at WKU. I'm sure Taggart will con someone into hiring him.

Dudes a leader if he already speaks for the other recruits.

Why would that make any sense at all? USF hired retread Charlie Strong and he got canned, so lets do it again? The story here is probably Taggart is begging USF to hire him again...USF would be very dumb to do this....I think ODU would be a better fit but more than likely Taggart is coaching with his boy at Michigan next season...

FAU dodged a bullet with that one.

In 2016 apparently after talks with kiffin had broken down Pat Chun had made an agreement with Bobby wilder to become coach at FAU. However the President of FAU had spoken to Kiffin directly and came to an agreement and forced Chun to uninvite wilder and hire Kiffin. Now imagine if ODU had managed to hire Kiffin and FAU had hired wilder. :-D

That had to make the AD feel like ****...

the president of the school hires a coach without ever talking to the AD about it. How long after did the AD take another job?

edit: never mind I searched for it. Wow surprised it took another 2 years for him to find another job.

Chun was looking for another job pretty much every year he was at FAU. Even at Washington State after only 1 year he was recently linked to the Southern Cal AD position that went to Bohn.

Considering his "expertise" also got us Charlie Partridge who gave us 3 straight 3-9 seasons Im not feeling too bad for Chun.

Charlie was a fantastic recruiter but he couldnt get his tools to work. 2017 was Kiffin's coaching but Charlies recruiting. Coach P would have made a better athletic director than Coach
