Nope. We have $22 million and supposedly have more coming in. Our AD has said shovels will be in dirt this spring.
The buyout of his contract is in a separate account and there were some donations to help pay. Ironically, Texas is paying USF $1.9 million to come to Texas and play one game next year.
So Texas paid the bulk of his salary for the first two years here and now they will be paying 2/3rds of his buyout.

Um, or you could look at it like UT paid CCS to decimate our program for an easy W.
Texas is swimming in money,

My question is - how much of Strong's salary was coming from Texas and how much was USF actually paying him. Was the Texas money done. Was Strong on a full USF salary. What is the buyout. Is it low because of the Texas stipend or is it high because he is on a full USF salary.
Texas stopped paying Strong last year. USF was on the hook for his entire salary, which was 2.6M next year and 2.7M in the final year of contract.
I'm not a contract guy, so we literally just pay him his entire year 4, 5 salary even without working?
Why can't we put clauses into these contracts that say if you are FIRED for poor performance you get some lesser, reasonable payoff?
I understand a contract guarantees money, but I would think 25% or 50% of the yearly salary would be more appropriate for someone who gets fired.
Wasn't it in the contract that if Strong was fired last year it would not cost USF anything. That is an administration error, if true.

There were rumors to that but It was never proven. He would have still had to be paid out his contract but his retention bonus wouldnt have happened. So it would have been less, but not free.
