Reading the paper about the Buckeye vs UM game. If you watched, Patterson was tearing up the Buckeye secondary in the first half. In the second half he was 4-24 for 55 yds, no TD's and an interception. Granted they were playing from behind, and chucking the ball around, but can you say "second half adjustments?" Point being, the Bucks made adjustments at half to take away the plays that were gouging them. Yes they have better athletes, but 4-24 doesn't happen with receivers simply dropping balls. Did we ever make any adjustments at half to offset the opposing team's strength? In most of our games we scored enough points to win (except CMU)

I would say yes to the question of whether we made adjustments in the second half of games to offset the opposing team's strengths. Our strategy was to fall far enough behind that the opposing team would bring in the 2nd string QB and OL. Then we saw marked improvements in our defense. That, and allowing the other team to just run the ball in order to run the clock quicker - until they got to the victory formation. Those negative yards that came from kneeling on the snap did help on the defensive stats.
Most of the defenses in the MAC are not very good. Ours is a special kind of "not very good".
