The AAC Champ should go to Cotton Bowl
Memphis would have the best chance to do something in the Cotton Bowl. Put the fix in now. Memphis might not win, but UC and BSU would definitely both get hammered. For the greater good of the P6!

Also notice the conference rankings where the American is way ahead of the ACC...while the MWC is way BEHIND the ACC.

These rankings are all subjective to the person that created them. They played the number 1 team in the country is why it is high in this one. Boise and Memphis SOS are comparable. Cincy lost 42-0 to that team. Proving that they COULD NOT HANDLE a top 42nd ranked schedule. Thank you for proving my point.

I’m siding with the Boise State fan in this spat. Definitely BSU over Cinci, but not over Memphis. However, the AAC needs their own NY6 bowl for their champ so this not an issue.

Oh great sweet. We all have bottom half of FBS schedules. I guess none of us really deserve to go to the Cotton Bowl.

Weird that Cincy SOS is propped up by a 42-0 loss the the #1 team. Yep they deserve the bowl bid. You got me!

Thanks for proving my point once again.

In order of deserving the Cotton Bowl is Memphis, Boise, Cincy since their schedule is propped up by losing 42-0 to the #1 team and being the ONLY team that could't muster 1 point out of all the opponents they played.

Boise State should just join the AAC for football . Then , BSU could settle the issue on the field.

Thank you Square Knight. I'm enjoying the hell out of this Boise State troll and his imaginary SOS numbers.

If you want to remove the OSU loss and then compare SOS that’s fine, but then you also have to remove the loss, meaning Cincy is a one loss team and would obviously deserve it over Boise.

Either way, your argument makes no sense. You are throwing a tantrum.

You guys faced a particularly weak SOS this year and lost to one of those mediocre opponents. Boise doesn’t have even close to a majority of the metrics to back them up.

I really can’t believe this is the debate.

I agree. The AAC needs to add the Boise, BYU, and then the two best MWC teams at least.

16 teams. Autobid.

The point actually is that you were deceptive in your presentation of SOS as an argument. FIVE different respected, computerized ranking systems rate Cincinnati's schedule harder than Boise State's schedule.

So as I said initially...congrats on finding the ONE computer ranking that has Boise ranked higher. But the overall consensus is that Cincinnati's schedule was stronger.

I am not whining. If Cincinnati somehow beats Memphis next week they will not get in over Boise. They don't deserve it. Its not debatable.

Let's all remove one loss from all our schedules... for arguments sake...

We would not be debating WHO would get the auto spot... We would be debating if Boise or Memphis deserve a spot in the 4 team playoff. Cincy would not even be in the conversation. Heck Appalachian St would be undefeated.

Get outta here with that crap... its dumb.

"Let's remove their loss and then debate" ..... What is this fantasy college football?

Yes you got me... You proved that according to our SOS we all suck and no deserves to even sniff the Cotton Bowl. You sound JUST like a Power Conference fan.

I guess the AAC marketing is working! Congrats!

Cincy ain’t getting in over Boise if both win. Memphis has looked great though and would deserve it with 1 loss.

RE: The AAC Champ should go to Cotton Bowl
Can I play?

When the committee refers to strength of schedule, they most often frame it as "quality wins."

Comparison between Boise State and a two loss Cincinnati:
Resumes:
Rankings of opponent for each team's wins. (CFP where in, otherwise Massey Composite from last week's results, with 117 rankings compiled)
Boise: #29,49,57,58,59,63,108,111,120,122,FCS
Cincy: #18,26,48,63,69,72,83,86,91,112,125

Cincinnati's wins clearly better at the top. A wash or slight advantage for Boise in the middle, but the bottom of the mwc makes Boise's resume look bad. I didn't double up for #57 rematch in CCG).

Losses:
Boise to #45
Cincinnati to #1 and #18, with #18 being avenged in the CCG.

Boise and Cincinnati have a common opponent.
Boise eked by Marshall on their blue home turf 14-7; Cincinnati blew out Marshall in Huntington 52-14

If the committee does what they say in comparing records it should be Cincinnati.
