Herd Basketball vs. Florida Gators
This may be the first ever meeting between Marshall and Florida on the basketball court, but there is some history between these two schools.

* Billy Donovan has coached at both of these schools. Herd gave Donovan his first coaching job, and Donovan later gave Florida 2 national titles.

* Jason Williams played one season for both programs before entering the NBA.

* Florida has the #1 rated Strength of Schedule in the nation. That's what you get for playing the Herd!

Marshall leading #24 Florida, 33-25, at half. Herd’s Defense and length giving Florida some fits. Florida was up 8-0 after 5 minutes, but Marshall nearly doubling up the Gators in the last 15 of the half.

Under 6 to go now, Florida’s Blackshear, the SEC pre-season POTY, showed up and Florida’s been pushing hard in the paint. Florida’s put together two runs now and threatening to pull away. Our low percentage shooting finally caught up to us.
