Stephen F. Austin with the historic upset
Down goes Duke in OT in their own building.

SFA star Nathan Bain lays in a basket with about 3/10s of a second left to take the lead.

It is Duke's first non-conference home loss since 2000. Duke was a 27.5 point favorite. It is also the largest upset by a D1 team in the last 15 years.

Anyone else watch this one?

A mid-major hadn't upset #1 on #1's home court since 1993.

Then it happened 2 times in 2 weeks.

Duke and Kentucky are still good teams. I think it shows more about ever-so-slightly growing parity and that early season polls may not be accurate but rather a reflection of program name biases.

think it's cool- the guy who hit the shot to win the game- his family had been impacted by Hurricane Dorian back in September... they had a gofundme for him. was around 2k before the shot. it's now up to over 60k with donations from all 50 states.

I think the 1 and done players are catching up to teams early in the year when they are building team chemistry with a bunch of new players every year.

nah. Isolated one for Duke. Only their 6th loss by end of Feast week in the last decade....

or Kentucky. They have 6 November losses and 18 before end of December- and of those 18- 14 were Ken Pom level A and 4 level B.

Hoops is different from football. Because of the NCAA tournament, coaches can be more experimental before conference play starts, can afford to try different things that allow them to get better and peak in March/April. And that means doing things that risk losing now. These losses would only be meaningful if they keep Duke or UK from making the tournament and of course they won't.

Not like football where every week is do-or-die.
