I was disappointed in our defense last night. We did not play with energy. Defense has to carry a team when their offense struggles. JMU scored enough points to win last night even though they shot poorly in the second half.

It’s a long season. This team needs to regroup and come out strong on Saturday.

In programs there are good decisions and bad decisions.

Bad decisions and patience are now effecting us significantly this year and will do so next year in the new arena. What could of been building momentum and excitement is now "I don't care if it's a new arena if this is the product." We screwed up opportunity.

"This year"? Bad decisions have been a staple for Louis Rowe and his teams. Remember the W&M game that we had no business losing? Apparently Rowe still hasn't learned from those. The only difference is that we've had just a little more scoring.
This is year 4. This was the year where he felt confident about his team. This was the year where it was all supposed to come together.
But this team is doing exactly what all his other teams have done: made stupid decisions and blow up games. Rowe is the common denominator.

RE: Rowe Has Got to Go......
Lets be honest, we select few on these boards are the only ones who care anymore. The students dont care about MBB, when I was there 06-10 95% of the students didnt care and it hasnt got any better. Fans/Alumni on the annoying FB groups dont care. Yea people will come check out the new arena, but it will be just as empty next year unless there is a complete overhaul and I have no faith of that happening. I only watch because I am an addict to JMU sports in need of severe counseling and even I am this close to not caring anymore. What a shame.

He is available, and would have this team running a successful O and D by mid way through the caa season - this year.

I've always liked Tony and I, too, think he would have us competitive in short order. I don't have his number though, let's hope the powers that be do!

Not good enough for W&M and we'd all trade for him in a New York second.

There are sooooo many options out there. That this is what we did four years ago, and last off season is beyond ridiculous.

If someone 5 years ago said we would release Brady to bring in Rowe I would of thought there would be 0% chance. Of course I never learn. 03-banghead01-lauramac2

I thought it was time to make a change with Brady - but not to bring in Lou. And now the same thing as with Dillard - shows he's not the coach and we continue to retain him.

I don't know if you're serious or not but it is actually easily findable by a Google search. Perhaps copy and paste it into an email to Bourne? "Hey, Jeffrey, please give this number a call, and ask for Tony"

I don't think Rowe is the answer.

Cutting him loose in November is definitely not the answer.

How the hell do they (seemingly) do so well with the football hires, 3 in 5 yrs, yet can’t get one damn MBB hire right in my kids lifetimes?

Are MBB coaches tougher to find than good FCS coaches?

Hmmmmm

Even Keener wasn't let go early and he deserved it more than Rowe. Rowe will at the least be given the rest of the season.

Unfortunately I think we win enough that JMU admin decides to let him coach through next year. Don't be surprised if it happens.

"You are what your record says you are." ....Bill Parcells

Good teams may have a let down once in a while. But good teams don't lose to Coppin St. by 16 at home.

Hmmmmm

You have to pay more for a MBB coach, and JMU has been HC shopping in the discount/marked down/flawed bin at Ross

RE: Rowe Has Got to Go......
I've been searching for optimism on JMU MBB and GOAT HCLR every season. But giving up 100 to Coppin State? They had 81 shots last night to our 66, and they made 10% more of their shots. We committed 17 TOs and only forced eight.

That was a bad game. There is no other way around it. We needed to show that the last few minutes against ODU were an aberration, but it appears to be the norm. Maybe the guys were looking forward to Turkey Day. Maybe the guys were overlooking this opponent (I don't know why since they kicked our asses most of the game last year in the Convo).

Again, I've been searching for HCLR to give me something to hang my hat on, but there isn't consistency. Often times, fan bases scream "Fire Coach X" but don't have a better replacement lined up (looking at you, Washington Redskins!). You could make the case this is what happened when we fired Matt Brady and brought in Lou. For the record, I thought Matt needed to go as well, but didn't know who was a better option at the time. Now... we have a better option, with a proven record as a winning coach in this league! We need to make a change; we need to bring in GOAT HCTS, and long may he reign.
