Quite the reward for all that hard work.

ESPN runs the bowls. Tulane/Temple/UCF will play in those Florida bowls. AAC is the alternate for the Liberty.

I really can’t see the Liberty Bowl wanting chunks of the UC fanbase splitting trips coming to Memphis 3 weeks in a row. Of course that assumes losing this weekend.

Talked to some players after the game and the consensus was Cotton Bowl or ..... nothing. They said the bowl games were not worth extendind the season another month.

Depending on which players you were talking to. Bowl games mean more practices!!!!!! Better for the younger players who've not played or the redshirts. Coaches love it for the latter.

RE: Week 13 Bowl Projections
One article had UC filling in at the Nashville Music Bowl on Dec 30.

I could dig that. Readily driveable. Fits my schedule.

I could even put up with an evening of country music (not my favorite, but the best artists gig around Nashville.)

I'm glad UC players want the Cotton Bowl. That's the way it should be.

But UC is in no position to turn down any bowl. The bowl brings revenue, increased exposure and extra practices that will make this young team even more competitive next season. Worst case, we get shipped off to play a little known G5 opponent in a minor bowl with little fan interest. Go beat them-- notch another win, get some hardware and aim higher for 2020. That's how programs (and traditions) are built.

Did Ole Miss cost us a better bowl with their undisciplined idiocy and allowing Miss. St. to become bowl eligible?

Quite possibly. I guess we're in the position of cheering for P5 teams to eliminate their conference peers from bowl eligibility this weekend. With the dreadful bowls at the bottom of the AAC's contract list, UC may need some help in this regard.

Nah, we want Miss St in a bowl. We want SEC teams eligible but they are not going to get a team to Birmingham.

Watched the Egg Bowl. Couldn't believe that player did that.
Glad the officials added the yardage to the extra point instead of on the kickoff.
The stupid act by #8 ended up costing the Rebs bigly.
AD, coach and player all had to publicly apologize as the big money Ole Miss alums were outraged.

UC could end up playing State in their bowl game if it is Liberty, Birningham or Music City.

I believe it is the other team's choice as to whether to assess on the extra point or ensuing kickoff.

The NFL rule is the team gets to choose to assess the penalty on the kick off or extra point when a TD celebration penalty is called. Pretty sure that rule went into affect just this year. Not sure about who makes that determination for college.

RE: Week 13 Bowl Projections
The AAC championship can still be won and that should be the big goal at this point.
The Cotton Bowl went out the window last night for the Bearcats...

even with a win next week against Memphis — How does a 2 loss UC team gets in over a 1 loss Boise or 1 loss Appalachian State?

Play next weekend for the AAC Conference Championship. Rings should be great motivation.

Ironically beat Memphis next week and maybe they stay home for the Liberty Bowl.
