Proportional Band
In control technology there is something known as the proportional band. A wide band implies a slow response. A tight band implies a rapid response. A control algorithm that is too tight provides an erratic response to a change.

Our boards are characterized by a very narrow proportional band resulting in erratic responses to whatever happens to our sporting teams.

We collectively need to be more considered in how we react to events.

The responses here often lack credibility.

Not trying to make excuses, but this is the nature of sports boards, and especially game threads. Go check out Rupps Rafters Evansville thread.

IMO if a poster is seeking credible responses, a game thread is usually the wrong place to look for them. I think most understand this, no?

Apparently not based on some of the posters that dropped in post game.
