I think he got a lot of leeway for his first few seasons based on the dumpster fire he inherited, then he made a bowl two years in a row. Not sure what happened after that, the dude has the setting of Breaking Bad to sell to recruits!

He had a nice little run at New Mexico. I think they were leading the nation in rushing one year.

Solid coach, he's just been in tough situations: following Lou Holtz at Notre Dame and then rebuilding New Mexico, which seems near impossible.

I've always enjoyed his analysis.

Few years ago won a bowl and thought he had turned the Lobos around.

I get that Albuquerque isn’t in or close to a recruiting hot bed but there are numerous worse places to spend 4-5 years.

He did bring them back from the mess that Locksley gave him. I think his mistake was thinking he had to have an option type offense.
