The best players on the best teams have been leaving for the past 15 or so years. I feel what you're seeing is the global growth of basketball has produced a much deeper talent pool than we had 20-30 years ago so the disparity between the haves and have nots isn't as large as it once was. Combine that with the increase dependence on the 3 ball and it opens the door for upsets.

And if I had to pick one of those 2 things out of whack, it would be Maryland at 4. In my opinion Penn State is right at that top 25 line and Maryland should be a mid to upper teens ranking.
