It's just amazing that we can have a QB pass for over 300 yds, rush for nearly 150 and still lose because they can't score beyond the 20s.

Great game today, MTSU QB is tough, to me more impressive than Stockstill....I don’t care how ugly, just glad we won...MTSU played this game like it was a bowl game which was expected...Took their best shot and won...

It’s obvious that any time Middle plays Western in any sport it’s their Super Bowl. They proved that today when they played way over their heads to make the game a typical WKU/Middle football game.

I didn’t listen when all of the Middle fans were singing chorus after chorus of “woe is us...we be po’ ole middle and couldn’t beat Gallaudet U in a name that song contest”. I didn’t fall for their pro level sandbagging and stated it would be a tough game.

I’ve liked Asher O’Hara since one of the Middle fans posted an article on him telling how he got no looks out of high school and only got looked at by Middle and SIU (I believe) out of Juco. Then went out and dropped 500 yards on someone early this season. Great story of a kid that believes in himself and proving everyone wrong.

He did nothing today that made me like him any less. Oh...he made me hate him several times during the game but that was just because he was beating us. But I really love what he brings to the game. He’s not just a running QB. Kid can drop a dime from long distance too. He’s tough too. He didn’t get hit on much early but he took some real looks in the second half. I saw him moving slowly a couple times after plays but as all tough kids do he bounced back and never quit.

Big congrats to Ty Storey for finishing his storybook season. Very happy for this young man.

Today was flat out miserable during the first half. I was upstairs and it simply did not stop raining. I was dressed for it but it still sucks. Second half the rain moved out and Middle was making me miserable. It’s exactly what I expected in the game.

It was a very happy walk up the hill to my parking lot knowing we ended Middle’s Super Bowl with a loss. That is always a wonderful thing.

Great job by Helton this year. He made some bad calls that cost us in both the Marshall and FAU losses but first year head coaches do that. They just do. I hope he learned from it. I’ll certainly take 8-4 after what numbnuts pulled the last two years.

Game played out about what I expected....

Western did just enough to get the win on a day where they tried to give it away. I knew if the defense could not stop the running game of the Middle qb. He would be able to go deep a couple times. Western's safeties always cheat up and get caught doing so.

Dont understand Western's FG kicker. He kicks a 22 yard extra point right down the middle and it would be good from 20 yard back. He hooks the 30 to 35 yard fg almost every time. That was his 3rd in a row (1 at USM) AND ONE VS mARSHALL.

Game played out about like all Middle/Western games and just glad to walk away with the win. I think Helton is going to be a very good coach for Western. He seemed to learn from his mistakes that cost Western a chance at a 3rd CUSA championship. I honestly thought this team loses out after the FAU game. The biggest change for the Western offense. short to mid range passes from side line to side line and over the middle. And finally moving the running game from between the tackles. To taking it around the ends.

But I'm that one fan...that expected a championship this year, after the start of conference play. But a 9 win season and go into next year as one of the favorites in the east takes some of the bitterness away.

This team never lacked talent...it was coaching that was missing. While Helton has improved as the season played out..you going to get those 1 or 2 games of mistakes that cost you. To be honest you have to be a bad team to take more than 3 losses in CUSA. Probably average to take 3.

Juwuan Jones father sit with us today and he said New Orleans was still in play for Western. I dont see it but that would be my top choice. Play Appy St in a destination city that is warm....8 to 10k Western fans

Go check the all-time record young fella/ Middle Tennessee remains on Top of your Toppers. After 69 ball games against your biggest rival; see if you can develop some character to sprinkle on that inflated ego.

Enjoy that big 35-33 game advantage. WKU has won 4 of the last 5 and is gaining rapidly.

Well your name explains it all. Boy. lol.

When a fan goes to ‘attendance smack’ or ‘class smack’ it tells you they follow a losing team. And that’s no surprise. Since that’s exactly what Middle is. A losing team. I was there in the rain the whole time. Right above the Middle bench and you can rest assured your players were acting like they were in the Super Bowl all the way up to the point that your genius coach called a fake punt on his own ~30 yard line. When he was leading. When his defense was playing pretty solid. We promptly score to take the lead and you could have heard a pin drop on the Middle sideline.

Fortunately for Super Bowl runner up Middle they have a tough young guy that plays quarterback for them and he did give them a slugger’s chance near the end.

As for the all time record it’s something like 34-33-1 to Middle’s favor. And that’s mainly because Middle beat us 5 out of 6 times when we moved up to FBS and were atrocious. Until then Western had maintained the series lead.

I truly, truly enjoyed spanking that Middle butt yesterday on a very, very miserable day. A lot of my post was just to poke at the two smartest men on the internet. One of them took that old stinkbait but the other was smart enough to not even nibble on it. You took the hook so deep I’ll have to cut the line.

This game is historically close regardless if we're both good, both bad or in opposite roles in that regard.

But tell yourself whatever you want beed...
