Wait, Elon of all people is hosting a Thanksgiving tournament? And they got actual teams to convince their players it was a great location to spend Thanksgiving?

South beats Northeastern 74-62 in the first game of the Gulf Coast Showcase. We will play the winner of the Drake/Miami (OH) game tomorrow at 4:00 CT. USA held the country’s top scorer to 9 points, and as someone pointed out on the USA board, two of those points were from free throws from a technical foul on our coach.

2 really good wins today. USA over Northeastern and Louisiana throttled Detroit.
1 decent but expected win: TXST beat ACU at home.
1 awful loss. Troy lost at Alabama A&M. Ouch.

The Belt seems really well rounded this year in bouncy ball. Zero worries about Troy. They'll get there. App and LR playing better this year so he bottom of the league isn't so embarrassing

Looking at the rest of the week, a sweep by the SBC isn't unthinkable. Have to stop losses like Troy had though. I hope stAte beats SFA.

App is +11.5 @ ETSU, hoping to keep it close and maybe steal the victory.

I think it's become a mental thing for Troy at this point.

You gotta remember, this is a young team with only 1 senior. Scott Cross brought in over half of this roster just a few months ago.

We started out the season with a buzzer-beater loss to UAB, an implosion loss to Chattanooga in the last 3 minutes after beating them nearly the entire game, and then a close loss to Texas A&M after outplaying them most of the game.

The loss to Alabama A&M was very tough to see, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

SFA will be favored in that one, and it would be quite the upset if ASU can pull out a win.

SFA is tied with Duke halfway through 2nd half right now.

I wasn't sure how we would beat them beforehand, but this left the door open. There's no way of knowing how they respond after this coming to our large empty arena after beating the Cameron Crazies

At worst...Arkansas State's marketing department has perhaps the easiest marketing job its had for the basketball program in a while. And 72 hours to get people to show up.

This . .

Some are already calling their upset of Duke the biggest upset in College Basketball in the last 20 years, Duke was favored by like 23.5.
Would not be surprising if those "young men" let it go to their heads and come out "flat" Sat. Vs. Ark St.
Will be interesting to see if their Coaches can put the Big Win behind them and have them ready for the Red Woofs.

Regardless, love that "The Jacks" knocked off Puke . . . eeeerrr Duke.

Our women barely got by UNO. Ugh. They have to get better if they want to do anything in the SBC this year.
