Our women haven't won a game yet, or really come close for that matter...

Something about hiring a failed former Marshall coach because he was friends with the biggest donor in town...

ULM's women are 1-4. The new coach has already improved things drastically from what I've heard, but it might not translate to wins this season.

South's womens' team has disappointed with a 2 - 4 record. Suspensions and injuries have hurt.

GSU’s home win against Charlotte was a must even though it took overtime. We are certainly having issues fading in the second half and late in games. No shame in that against Duke and Georgetown (which was picked 6th in the BE) on the road, but now we’ve done it twice against teams with, roughly, comparable talent levels. We looked in control of both the Charlotte (picked 12th, 3rd to last in C-USA) and Charleston (picked 2nd in CAA) games with five or so minutes remaining, pushing leads up to seven, eight points in both instances. Then things sort of come apart from that point on. Charleston is a good team and that was on the road. Charlotte certainly looked better to me than their preseason placing in the conference, they have a freshman who can really score and the Coastal Carolina transfer Bamba is a load.

It’s too bad about the Charleston collapse or else we would have one heck of an early resume after pushing both Duke and Georgetown. We were picked sixth Sun Belt preseason but I’d be very disappointed to finish out of the top four. I think this team has a lot of potential.

Mavs over Elon 77-67. Big game Monday versus our local rivals, UNTexas, against whom we are 25-20 since 1980.

I was wondering how SFA would respond to their Big Boy upset of Duke . . .

Wondered if they'd go into this one suffering from a Big Boy upset hang over . . .

Guess not . . .

We couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. They shot poorly all first half, but that Harris kid took over in the 2nd

Wouldn't feel too bad about a loss to Jax . . . they're a good program. Personally, not sure we could take 'em either.

Their defense was incredibly difficult to solve. Our primary ball handler is a true freshman, and they took full advantage of that.

I was impressed with our defense early. We forced one of the fastest teams in the country to slow down to the point they had multiple shot clock violations, but in the end we didn't hit enough shots during the 15 minute stretch where they were struggling to do anything. Once they hit a couple shots, it was over.

I don't think we'll shoot well enough to challenge for the league title this year, but I don't think we're going to finish 10th either. Probably closer to 5th-6th.

Preseason pick of UTA as #2 SBC team was way too optimistic. We're no better than the team that was picked #11 last year. The only difference is this year, we won't surprise anybody. I'm still looking forward to the last game, at Troy.....
