And a question for any (if there any) Cajun fans: how many of you guys consider ULM a rivalry? Does Cajun Nation consider it one? Asking for a friend.
I consider Arkansas state to be more of a Rivalry
Same. My friends are casual fans and this game is drawing the same amount of interest from them as the game against Troy, which is very little interest.
ETA, I will actually have to try and get them to the game by pumping the potential 10 win season over some pseudo rivalry vs ULMost
I feel like Louisiana could play a Top 10 team at home and no one would bat an eye, at this rate.
What would actually get your fanbase up for a game at this point? If I recall correctly, when App first came into the Sun Belt Cajun Field had stands that were full.
No sir that memory is incorrect. I remember vividly in 2014 App went down to Louisiana and beat the Cajuns 35-16 in front of no fans. The same could be said of all sun belt teams before App and Gorgia Southerns arrival except troy. There arnt any fans for those teams.
The game you speak of had an announced attendance of 20,638. The Saturdays around Thanksgiving are typically tough on attendance. Then couple that with App's transition into FBS, that game just did not draw the interest from UL fans. But still, UL averaged just shy of 26,000 at home that year and had just over 34,000 for the New Orleans bowl vs Nevada who brought very few fans. And to further prove your post wrong, the Cajuns show these attendance numbers in 2011-2013:
2011: 29,171 avg home, 42,841 at NOB vs San Diego St
2012: 22,865 avg home, 48,828 at NOB vs ECU
2013: 25,976 avg home, 54,728 at NOB vs Tulane
And keep in mind, for most of those years, UL reported butts in the seats for home attendance. New Orleans bowls went off of ticket sales. So yes in 2011 we averaged nearly 30K actual people for our games.

He a good kid. Very smart, I believe he will graduate in EE in the Spring. He told the previous staff he would play until he graduates. Not sure if that is still in his plans though.

That’s right, not sure why I thought it was Electrical.
