Have a Vandy transfer, the current 2nd stringer and an early enrollee. Between the three and Brad Collins I am not that concerned about the offense. The defense is worse than 115th in every defensive statistical category. It's amazing we are bowl eligible.

Regardless, it's going to be tough to replace what Ellington could do. He didn't just run the offense, he commanded it. It's tough to find QBs like that, regardless of skill set.
It's kind of how we are with Werts. He's strong, fast, agile, and even throws the ball better than Ellison did. But he doesn't have that "it" factor that Ellison did. Where Werts seems like just another gear in the offense, Ellison seemed like the entire offense flowed through him. Hard to explain, but point is it's not just skill set that gives you a good QB.

Let's not forget, Ellington was there last year also with Penny Hart on the roster. It takes time for most QB's to become proficient in any offense - learning terminology and getting an understanding of who will be where and what calls are preferred in certain situations. Having the transfer there early will help, but he'll need some game experience to get up to snuff.

We have been fortunate to have had three really great men in a row at QB

Conner Manning was a pretty good QB in the Sun Belt.

Thats who I was forgetting. Somehow completely forgot about him. He was decent, I dont think he was quite as good as Arbuckle, maybe as good as Ellington but obviously a different playing style.

Arbuckle was ridiculous. Nobody was as good as him. It's why is being paid money in Canada.

Thanks for posting that panama.
First national article we've had on ESPN's website this year that isn't bizarre, tragic, or embarrassing.

Yeah thought it was bizarre that this is the only way we get on. But a great story nevertheless.
